Ben

I've been writing Beverly post cards, but never sending them. She's all the way in Portland. Sometimes she'll send the club a letter. Today I'm sending one. I need to let her know I miss her. I pick up a new card, and try to think of a nice poem.

' Ever since, I laid my eyes on you, I knew for a fact, this was a dream come true. Your hair red as fire, your attitude flying like sparks, I know we're a handful of miles apart, but I'm saving a place for you in my heart."

That sounds cheesy, but it should work. It sounds smooth. I put it in an envelope, because I don't want it to get damaged.

I seal the note and put the address and stamp on it. I go and put it in the mail. I hope she writes back. It shouldn't take that long, we still live in Maine, just not close anymore.

About a week and a half later

I've been checking the mail everyday since I've sent the card. I hope she got it. Today will be the last day that I check the mail box in a hurry. I go to my mailbox and look. I see three letters. The first two are for my mom, but the third one is addressed to me.

I blush looking at the little extra at the end. I run inside to finally open the note. I put down my mom's mail and run to my room.

I carefully open the envelope and take out a folded paper.

' Dear Ben,

I miss you, and the rest of the club more than anything. But since I have the opportunity, I'll ask some questions. One, how is the whole club? Two, how are you? Three, can you send all the postcards you've made for me, I know you've been writing them. Four, when I come back, will you be my boyfriend? Love, Beverly Marsh'

The answers to these questions are, good, happy but missing something, sure, and of course.
