(overly attached Klaus x reader) This is based to the song SAD! By XXXTENTACION. You should listen to it while reading, but you can listen to your own music. Because I know when authors tell me to listen to the music they put, I usually don't.

"Who am I? Someone that's afraid to let go"

Klaus Baudelaire was in a relationship with Y/N for over a year after his series of unfortunate events were over. Emotional pain affects people in different ways, it may cause them to bottle their feelings, some may become angry. Klaus ended up being clingy to everything he considered his. He didn't want to lose anything else. He'd already lost his childhood, his parents, and almost everything he loved. So when Klaus started dating Y/N, he didn't want to lose her. This involved barely letting her hang out without him, and wanting to know everything about her. She always had to tell him where she was going, who she was with, and when she is coming back. The only reason she didn't leave him was because she loved him. He also tended to have emotional outburst. Most of the time they were sad. He would cry for hours straight, and say things about himself nobody wants somebody they love to say.

The main reason people tend to stay in relationships is because they feel they can help the person. Being in a relationship with a person who seems vulnerable, or broken, makes a person feel like they have a responsibility. Having a relationship a person they can take care of, makes both parties feel good. The provider feels good because they're in love with a person, and they're being a good person by caring for them. The person being taken care of feels good because they're also in love, and they start feeling better because they feel love. The thing about  Klaus and Y/N is that they both don't know what they're doing.

Y/N loves Klaus, wanted the best for him, and wanted to care of him. But she didn't know how to. Klaus wasn't just broken, he was depressed. He loves Y/N, but lived in constant fear she would leave. He couldn't control his emotions, he had outbursts, and Y/N couldn't help him. She knew that him being depressed was out of her power, and she couldn't change that. She had to try multiple times to get him help. She was delayed because he was threatening suicide. But he finally complied one day. He went to the hospital.

He was there for only a week, but him and Y/N broke up. About a year passed. Klaus was going out for coffee. On Wednesdays he got coffee, the went to the bookstore. He's been doing since he got out. Klaus walked into the cafe, got his coffee, then sat down by a window drinking it. Just as he was leaving, he bumped into somebody.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," he says.

They look up and see each other.

"Klaus."

They stared at each other for a moment, before moving because they were blocking the doorway.

"Um, hello," Klaus says.

"How have you been?" Y/N asked.

"Good, what about you?" he replied.

"I'm doing good," she replied.

They started catching up.

"I'm going to the bookstore, do you want to come?" Klaus asked.

"Sure," she replies.

The two re-lit an old flame. Y/N saw Klaus had gotten better, and that this would be a better relationship.
