rome ended up just riding his motorcycle home from the beach. it was already close to the end of the day and he was exhausted.
shrugging his backpack off his shoudlers, he walked deeper into his house and plopped down on the couch. scrolling absently through his phone, becoming bored and letting his mind wander to different lives he could be living. he wanted to be living.seeing his mom still wasn't home only made him angrier. jaw clenching subconsciously.
his breathing hitched when his eyes read a new notification he received on instagram.
his brows furrowed, curious on how she found his instagram, yes, his username, was his name, but still. eager much? a grin twitched onto his lips, clicking onto her profile and doing some well earned stalking.
the first picture that caught his attention was a selfie. she was in the sun, the light beating on her face perfectly. serenading the shade of her skin tone. light dancing in all the right places as her dimples came into view with a happy content smile on her face. her eyelids looked heavy in the picture. half shut, half open. half happy, half sad?
rome wondered if clem was the kind of girl to hide her real feelings with deep meanings and poems and sunlight and happiness. he also wondered if she was just happy. just okay.
rome was the complete opposite, if so.
but that's how it works right? oppostites attract and all that shit. like society gets to tell us who were supposed to be with depending on our personalities. wrong.
attraction is a sudden thing. an impulse. something you can not control no matter how much you try to ignore it or lie to yourself. attraction is deeper than any beings exterior. it's bigger than any of us, really.
even though rome believed in attraction, he did not believe in love. he believed in settling. being okay with the wrinkles and the attraction lessening as you age. he believed in that. not any stupid love shit people try to course in your brain to keep anyone hopeful or sane.
rome scrolled to the next picture. it was of clem and a boy. the same boy he saw her kissing, the same boy who wrapped himself around her waist. the same boy that made rome clench his fists. biting his lip, his eyes explored the picture more.
they were snuggled up in a bed? it disgusted rome to even fathom the thought that clem was intimate with that boy. boy, yes, he was a boy. it didn't matter, rome was most likely the same age as clem's boyfriend, rome still felt wiser and mature, superior to her boyfriend. better.
a smirk gracefully captured his lips, he knew he was better than that boy clem called her boyfriend.and he'd be happy to show her just how better he was.
a deep chuckle fell out of his curving lips, as his finger pressed down on the follow button.
let the games begin.——
I promise more dialogue for the following parts, I just wanted to share a bit more on rome's personality
