rome walks in the doors with wind swept hair and a sly smirk. he likes to think he knows what he's doing, yet, in reality, he's walking into a new school with no friends and in no rush to make any. he doesn't want to make any actually.
he likes to be by himself. he'll talk to people and mingle, flirt, but he never gets to close that they'll invite him over for a party or something. he likes to be by himself, after all.
he sees her when he turns down the hallway. she's looking into her locker, her tongue sticking out subconsciously like she's searching for something. he finds her intoxicating, addicting right away.
her hips. her dark skin. her wide eyes. the way her lips part as her tongue peaks out. her long curly black natural hair that reached just below her shoulder. he wanted her. he wanted to feel her curls tangled in his fingers.
when someone walked by and practically shoved rome in the shoulder, he was brought out of his trance. it was a boy whom walked past him. rome shot him a daring glare as his footsteps parted from him.
the boy walked up to stand behind the mysterious dark girl and wrapped his arms around her torso. rome's jaw clenched on its own.
the girl flinched before turning around and laughing. her smile was beautiful, rome noticed.
she was beautiful.
when their lips connected, rome wanted nothing more than to shove that boy away from her and slam him against the floor, to profusely punch away his breathing.
he shook his head, deciding to not look like a stalker on his first day. he glanced down at his schedule, having no idea where any of the classes is, he headed to the main office.
inside, their were many lingering students surprisingly. rome thought they had to be a part of some club or the student council or something as he took in their preppy appearances.
a tall blonde girl walked straight up to rome as he strutted in. a wide smile and happy eyes greeted him.
"hi! i'm elliot, you look lost, and new. i've never seen you before. who are you?" she blabbered on, rome fought the urge to roll his eyes, looking down at the girl.
"roman abernathy." his eyes gazed up and down the girls body. she was wearing a floral dress with a jean jacket. classic good girl vibes flooding off of her and it only intrigued him. he wanted to ruin her reputation suddenly.
it was an impulse thought, but rome always had impulse thoughts. solely how he made decisions were from impulses he had.
she gave him a smile. "great. do you need any help at all? i'm actually the junior class president so i'll be the one you ask questions."
rome nodded, "yeah, actually." he said and extended his schedule out to her. she grabbed it gently.
gazing over it for a moment before she flashed him another winning smile, "okay, come on."
and when her hand grabbed his, the only thing he wanted to do was flinch away and scorn the girl for touching him. but he bit back his tongue, needing this fresh start.
after all, he wouldn't want to repeat what happened last year.
