"wanna know something?"
rome was sitting across from sam outside the school doors on a picnic table. he isn't sure how he got into this situation but for some reason he's okay with it. sam is manageable to rome.
"hmm?" rome hummed, taking a bite of his apple.
"clementines parents invited my family over for a christmas party next week." he informed, a disgusted look staining his face.
rome rose a brow, "okay?.. something wrong?"
"YES!" he sighed exasperatedly. "I hate her family. their all rude and fancy. especially her mom, ugh." sam whines.
an idea struck rome. even though clem managed to make him angry, he still felt a magnetic pull towards the captivating girl. he wanted to meet who raised clem, he also wanted to see where she lived.
"how about me being your plus one?"
"what?"
"y'know, ill be there and we can hang out and make fun of rich snobs or something. whatever gets you off." rome shrugged.
"whatever gets me off?" sam repeated in a mocking voice.
rome rolled his eyes. "sam just shut up and say yes."
"wow. such a gentleman."
"here we go again."
"you know I'm sure if you actually tried, girls-no people might like you, dipstick." sam said, and drank his almond milk.
rome narrowed his eyes, nudging the milk bottle for it to spurt out onto sams face.
sam grunted, "you fuck! this is an expensive shirt."
rome chuckled, "see you later, sammy." and then he was gone.
