Ever since the day that you learned to speak, you had heard a voice inside your head, it wasn't your voice, but that was normal. Everyone had a voice that didn't belong to them, because everyone's mind was connected to their soulmate's. This isn't to say that you agreed on every idea and thought, because that certainly wasn't true for you. Your soulmate used to be like you, happy and excited about life until Jocelyn came along and he had fallen in love.

The idea of your soulmate marrying someone else had bugged you a little bit, but you got over it because sometimes soulmates weren't actually meant to be your significant other. Your best friend had met her soulmate at 19, they dated for a couple months and then realized that they were better as friends, she had gone on to marry someone else. Leonard had of course asked you to make sure that you were okay with it, and you were because you wanted him to be happy. Fast forward a few years and their relationship fell apart, she had found her soulmate and left him, taking everything including their young daughter. She broke him, he was no longer optimistic about life, and he hated the thought of adventure, but that's where you came in.

Your entire personality was looking to the positives, how could life be bad when you had a best friend with you all the time, no matter where you went you were never lonely and that was what made everything in life okay.

On days like today he was being exceedingly grumpier than usual.

Goddamnit, I'm going to kill him with my bare hands.

The thought invaded your mind and you could feel the anger coming off of him. Obviously you knew he was talking about Jim, after all these years of sharing a headspace you had gotten to know all of his friends as well as him. This means that you knew whenever he was this angry it was always because of Jim.

Sweets, you need to breathe, everything will be okay. Approaching this angrily will get you nowhere. Jim will not hear you over the anger

You think back to him, trying to soothe his anger, receiving a calmer energy from him immediately before continuing on with your studying. You had to work hard to get up their to him, but it would definitely be worth it in the end, to be able to work beside him everyday. You had never met him in person, but in spite of that you loved him with everything you had and knew it would all work out for you two.
