Monstercat

Monstercat - A great music label based in North America that houses a great and vast selection of electronic music.

Monstercat is an awesome electronic music label which I can't deny. It is full of amazing electronic songs from hard-hitting bangers to melodic and sweet tunes. The songs in the label are categorised by their genres like House, Future Bass and Happy Hardcore etc. This categorising helps the listeners to identify what type of songs they are so that they can focus more on the certain genres and listen songs on those genres. The Monstercat label also has albums which are sometimes known as compilations. These albums includes songs that were released on their platforms like YouTube, Spotify and Soundcloud etc. So far, they have released an initial series of 30 albums which also has a storyline that can be seen in the album arts and a Monstercat X Rocket League compilations which includes songs from Monstercat artists which will be available to listen in the Rocket League game. Not only, the label have released three albums so far from their recent Uncaged series which is still ongoing, with the volume 4 is currently being in progress.

Other than albums, they have a weekly podcast series that airs on each Tuesday (in US time) previously. Now, with a huge change just implemented, the day for podcast has changed to Wednesday. (in US time) For people who are residing in the Asia or Oceania region, the weekly podcast new episodes will be streamed live on the label's Twitch channel on the wee hours or in the early morning depending on your timezone, whereas the episode will be available on other streaming platform (not live but on demand) most of the times a few hours after the livestream of the new episode. Going back to the podcast, each episode mainly features a hour of music filled with new songs,  a throwback song and also other great tunes that you may forgotten about. Sometimes when a new album is released or there is a the "best of year" compilation or an event, there will be special episodes with album mixes (with some mystery new songs too) or songs related to the event respectively. 

There is another great thing other than podcast episodes - album mixes. Yup, the album mixes of the recently released albums or the songs that were considered "best of the year". These mixes can be found in YouTube, Spotify and also in the podcast episodes. It gives the albums and compilations a good twist since all the songs included will be lumped together but it will become a nice mix which is ear-pleasing. 

Music artists - one important core of the label. These artists formed a huge part of the label as without any music artists, the labels will no music to share with the world. Not only Monstercat have music artists in its arsenal, but they have great and talented artists like MYRNE, Mr FijiWiji and Slips & Slurs. But not everyone in the label stays as some like Varien decides to stop creating EDM with some of his more recent works were rejected by Monstercat and Nanobii establishing his own label due to his songs facing rejections like Varien. Some artists decided to go to another label for example, DROELOE and San Holo went to BitBird but it is rumored that they might be coming back to Monstercat. (I hope it really is.) After all, it is all the artists' choice and up to Monstercat's decision for them the artists to be able to a part of the Monstercat family.

After all, Monstercat is a great music label which I will keep on saying that. And as of right now, I super stoked for its upcoming releases especially Didrick's new song "Ready To Fly" featuring Adam Young. (who is the main dude in Owl City) I also hope that this label will continue to feature more artists who are talented and new. Lastly, I would like to thank the staff of Monstercat for running this awesome label especially the CEO - Mike Darlington and also the sweet voice behind the podcast - Angela Way.
