Batman: At least now we have something that could help us figure out the reason behind those portals.
Flash: Yeah, I've never seen aliens like that.
Star Lord: Neither have we.
Human Torch: One thing is for sure, that's not the end of those guys.
Spider-Man: Do you think they're coming from the portal?
Batman: I don't know, they could be. But they can't be coming from our universe.
Star Lord: Then they must be generating inside of the portal.
Superman: How does a living organism generate from inside a portal?
Batman: I don't know, but it's the only reason we've got, so we'll have to go off of that.
Spider-Man: Well, if we can't find Mr. Fantastic, then there's only one other person to go to: Tony Stark.
Spider-Man web slings away, and the others follow. They end up at a tall building, with a big A on it.
Spider-Man: Here it is, the Avengers Tower.
Superman: The Avengers? Is that a team like the Justice League.
Spider-Man: Yep, Earth's mightiest heroes.
Superman: So this is Earth too, huh?
Spider-Man: Umm... Yes? Isn't it obvious?
Superman: Well you never know with other universes. This place could be some place that was overtaken by robots, and this planet is the only planet with humans.
Spider-Man: True, but Earth is usually the only planet with humans anyways.
Superman: Dang, you got me there.
Batman: Okay you two, let's get this Tony Stark guy so we can figure this portal thing out.
Spider-Man: Okay Bat-Buddy, in we go!
The group heads into the Avengers Tower to see Captain America on a couch, using a laptop.
Spider-Man: Hey Cap!
Captain America looks up from the screen.
Cap: Oh, hey Pete. Who are these... Friends of yours?
Spider-Man: Uh, this is Batman, this guy is Superman, and this dude is the Flash. They got this portal thingymijig that they want Mr. Stark to help them with.
Cap: You need Stark? He's upstairs working on something. He hasn't come down for a while. Must be important.
Batman: Do you think he'd be okay with us talking to him for a bit?
Cap: Uh, sure, why not.
Spider-Man: Oh Cap, why are you in your costume?
Cap: Um, I don't know, we were just on a mission, and I never bothered to change.
Spider-Man: Ha, well you have fun on your computer.
Spider-Man leads the others into an elevator and to the second floor.
Cap: I don't have fun on computers. I don't even know how to send an e-mail!
When the elevator opens, they find Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, engaged in some type of technology.
Spider-Man: Hey Mr. Sta-
Tony: HOLY CRAP! Oh, it's just you guys. You scared me there. Hey Pete, hey Johnny, hey Pete... er. Heh, two Peters. So what brings you here?
Spider-Man: Um... 1. You're not going to ask any questions about these new guys? And 2. They want to talk to you about a portal.
Tony: To answer your questions, I've been expecting the new ones. Reed and I were working on that portal just like Bat-Dude and Cyborg-Dude were. We were able to see through the portal, but never get through. But then Reed disappeared. I suspect it had something to do with the portal.
Batman: So you can help us?
Tony: I don't know what I'm going to help you with, but yes, yes I can.
Batman: We just want to know how that portal formed, and why. We saw some aliens earlier, and we thought they might've been from the portal.
Tony: Yeah, I saw those guys too. They're definitely from the portal. I was able to knock one out and experiment on it, and it didn't match any other species.
Flash: So they're like, portal aliens?
Tony: Basically, except we don't know how strong they really are. I mean, there could be more powerful kinds, and we wouldn't know until they sent them.
Batman: Then we need to stop them at the source.
Tony: Yep, and I have the perfect way.
