Christina could only watch Kendall break down into tears after realizing she had seen him self harmed, he stepped back and sat down on the floor once again. He hated to have people see him vulnerable and see him cry. His lips trembled as he ran his fingers through his hair. She sat next to Kendall and wrapped her arms around him.
"You're not like that, Kendall. You can't be like that." She said. Kendall managed to wrap his arms around her. Her words only made Kendall cry harder.
Christina pulled back and looked into his eyes. He bit his lip, trying to stop himself from crying. She stood, and walked over to the medicine cabinet and pulled out the roller bandages. Kendall extended his arms out as Christina wrapped the bandages around the wrists.
"This all happened because of her didn't it?"
She looked up briefly at him before wrapping the right wrist. Kendall looked down and stayed silent. "Chris, no one cares-"
"Don't come up with excuses." She interrupted him. "You think no one cares if you're hurting because 'no one' is Heather. Your parents care, Dustin cares, I care. And what is it with you 'working out'."
"I'm losing weight." He answered.
"You have no weight to lose. You lose more, you'll practically disappear." She sighed. Kendall looked down.
"I just want to look good next to her." He mumbled.
She lifted his head up. "You're handsome just the way you are. Being honest, your looks make her ugly. Well she already is ugly, with or without you."
"You say that because you're my friend." He sighed. She shook her head. "But you're right, this started with Heather."
"Kendall, there's something I need to tell you.." Christina said at the same time, immediately regretting it. "You know, forget it. It's not the right time." She stood up and grabbed the razors from the bathroom counter as she walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. She saw the garbage can, then soon changed her mind. She wasn't going to risk Kendall to reach back and hurt himself again.
Kendall, from the bathroom, stood up and saw Christina slide open the balcony door as she threw the razors out into the beach. "You better hope none of those beach runners step on them or anything."
Christina sighed and leaned against balcony rail. "Fuck!" She turned around, walking back in the bedroom as she headed towards the hallway. Kendall quickly got up and pulled her towards him by her arm.
"What were you going to tell me a little while ago?" He asked. "And don't you dare tell me it was nothing Christina Belmonte, because I have known you long enough to know when you're hiding something."
She looked over his shoulder as she tried not to look into his green eyes, her biggest weakness. The sun was setting and the sky slowly exchanged its bright, cheerful colors to dark ones. "The reason.. One of the reasons I wanted to spend the spring break with you.." She turned to him, finally giving in to his gaze. "I wanted to finally tell you how I really feel."
His left hand, which he had on one side of her waist, slid across her lower back the opposite side. Pulling her closer to him. His face inched closer to hers as her heartbeat increased. "You're telling me, that all this time you felt more than just friends?" He raised his right hand from his side and caressed her cheek.
Christina pressed the palm of her hand against the back of his hand as it caressed her. His fingertips reaching the back of her neck. She slowly nodded before she turned her face and kissed his bandaged wrists.
Suddenly they both realized they were intertwined with each other in an intimate way. Kendall's arms wrapped around her protectively as Christina's hand held his and the other pressed lightly against his bare chest. They were nearly whole as one just their lips failed to press against each other compared to the rest of both their bodies. "Why have I been so blind?"
Kendall cupped the back of her head as he leaned in for a kiss. Shocked, Christina stumbled back as she pressed against the wall. She could feel her heart threaten to rip and jump out of her body as Kendall deepened and sped up the kiss.
"Let me have you." She heard a female voice say between kisses. Her eyes opened and widened as she recognized the voice. Her voice. "Let me show you, how I see you through my eyes." Christina spoke. Her hand slid down his torso as he trembled slightly. She felt as if something had possessed her and taken control of her voice, her mind, and her actions. "I'll love you how you should be loved and protect you how you should be protected." Her lips moved away from his as she went to his jaw, then his neck. His arms flexed as he muttered something to himself. He grabbed her sides as he pulled her up against the wall, letting her wrap her legs around his waist.
"I can't believe I had been out there looking for something I already had." He tugged on the hem of her shirt. "I could have just looked at what I had beside me. I am glad you're here. Because, I think I have discovered something deep inside myself that I never knew I felt. This feeling is so beautiful, it's like a dream."
"If this is a dream, don't wake me up. Don't wake me up because this is exactly what I want. What I needed." Christina mumbled against his skin. "I'm here to love you. Like I always had. But I am tired to hiding it from you. What's the point in loving you if I can't show it?"
"Then show me."
