This is one of my favorite quotes and it kinda inspired this one shot. Sorry for any grammar slip ups.

Sam stared down at the current cause of his stress, a pure black circle on the center his wrist. He lightly ran his thumb over the birthmark a few times and sighed before grabbing his keys and heading out for brunch.

Everyone was born with a special mark on their wrist that would only react and create the perfect picture when they found and touched their soul mate. For some it took only a light brush. For others it took a kiss for their pictures to fully connect. Sam thought this might be the case for him but, after dating both women and men and never once having his dumb mark change or show anything, he was starting to lose hope.

He was especially stressed because, his mark was different from others for some odd reason. It never bothered him as a kid or even in his early teens but now that he was getting older it started to worry him. It was nothing but a completely black circle. Even doctor's said they had never seen such an empty mark.

Usually people's marks had a lot more life. For instance, someone would have something like an instrument and their mate would have music notes or someone would have half the colors of the rainbow and their mate would have the others then, their marks would come together and make the full picture. Even with knowing that people's marks usually went together, Sam still couldn't make heads or tails of the mark his lover might have and that also bothered him.

Sam decided to get some fresh air and walk to a café he liked. It wasn't that far of a walk and the day was nice and breezy. He got their right a round noon and grabbed a booth next to a window in front. He didn't bother looking at the menu since he had been there before and knew what he wanted. He did, however, notice the "help wanted" sign on the window. He didn't need a job but being bored and waiting for someone to take his order he couldn't help but wonder who might take up the little café's offer.

He let that thought go and took out his phone playing a game to past the time. Finally after a few minutes someone approached his both.

"Hi, what would you like today?" The waiter asked looking at his notepad and waiting for a response. Sam knew all of the staff there and took note how this person must be someone new.

"Hi, I'll have a-" Sam's voice hitched as he finally looked over to the man taking his order. He was stunning.
