He bent down and gathered me up in his arms. I gave up and didn't fight. He carried me up the stairs.
Carefully he opened the door to the room, walking in I look up at me he didn't look at me all he stared forward. He couldn't even look at me and yet he had mated me.
I knew nothing about Inu mating, the only Inu I had known was Inuyasha and he was only a hanyou until last year. The times I had met Sesshomaru in the time I had been in the feudal era I could count on both hands.
Here I was powerless and weak. Here he was the same with the air of ignorance and superiority, he had lost nothing and I had lost everything.
He laid me on the bed and began to walk away at least he was leaving me alone. He closed the windows and the doors.
I closed my eyes, I was exhausted mentally and physically. The covers were pulled over me I opened my eyes to look at him with hatred.
"Sleep and we shall speak when you rise." He spoke as he ran his hand through my hair.
"Don't touch me." I spat as I threw his hand off me. He looked at me for a moment and left the room.
I turned and looked at the ceiling the crystals and mirrors eerily reflected the light. I had gone to Japanese castles in my time during class and fusui principles were very popular most of the castles had some crystals hanging in the corners of rooms to keep energy moving.
Here the crystals and mirror formed swirls and patterns embedded into the wooden beams.
Two days ago my life was ordinary as it could be falling down a well 500 years in the past to piece together a jewel that mystically burst from my body which was single handily shattered by me.
I had done this to myself, I had become complete depended on my powers they had never once failed me in the past. I had allowed myself to become lazy, comfortable in the presence of my friends believing in their strength.
Without my powers and my friends, I was just an ordinary girl that could bleed and break.
Against demons that could bend nature to their will , move faster than the eye could see and could break bones without a strain.
My heart fluttered in fear in my chest. The final battle with Naraku , I was willing to die for my friends for a cause but to die now at the mercy of a man that I did not know other than the brother of my dear friend, I was terrified.
No one in the modern day would end up accidentally married , so how could someone mate someone without the consent of both.
I didn't choose him. I had allowed myself to be lost in the moment and the moment was what caused all this.
I wouldn't allow myself to once again become the naive little girl that fell down the well. I was stuck in the past but I would be damned if I let anyone control my life other than me.
Slowly I dozed off. I dreamt of Sesshomaru not as before, now he was the man that held me pinned against a wall, gouging his claws into my body, biting me, attacking Sango.
Waking up with a start, I sat up in bed. It wasn't just a nightmare it was reality, my reality.
Groaning I lay back in bed, wincing as the skin tugged at the wounds on my waist. I would get answers.
There was a knock on the door, turning toward it I spoke."Come in."
"Morning, Lady Kagome. I will prepare a bath for you as Lord Sesshomaru has instructed. Lady Akira is waiting downstairs for you when you are ready." She spoke as others came in carrying pails.
