Hiccup Haddock walked to his locker before class. He found the books he was looking for, shut his locker and walked to his first class.

When Hiccup got to his classroom he found a blonde girl sitting on one of the free desks, her head in a book.

He didn't get a good look at her but he could already make out a pair of beautiful crystal blue eyes that looked like they were focused intently on the book. She had blonde hair that was tied up in a braid that fell over her left shoulder, an intricate braid braiding into that and a fringe that slightly covered her eyes. There was a glow like halo surrounding her, making her look like a Greek goddess. He finally snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a hand slap his back.

"Dude, what are you staring at?"

It was his cousin, Snotlout.

"I u-um I..." Hiccup tried to say until the bell cut him off.

"Please sit down Mr Haddock"

Hiccup quickly shook his head, running his hands through his hair, and quietly made his way to his desk.

He didn't listen during the lesson, he was too caught up in a daydream. He couldn't take his eyes off of this blonde beauty sitting in front of him. Hiccup sighed for what felt like the hundredth time, a love sick smile plastered on his face. He didn't even notice when the bell went to signal the end of the lesson, only when he noticed the blonde beauty pack up her books and leave the classroom. Hiccup shook his head once again and headed out and into his next lesson.

It was now lunchtime and Hiccup was sitting in the cafeteria with his friends, Fishlegs, Snotlout and Tuffnut, but he was too busy looking at the girl he saw in class to eat.

"You Ok Hiccup? You seem kind of distracted"

That was Fishlegs, Hiccups best friend. They have been best friends for quite a long time now and have always shared the same passions.

"Hiccup?" Fishlegs said again, waving his hand in front of Hiccups face, trying to release Hiccup from his trance.

"Huh" Hiccup replied, shaking his head.

"You were staring" Tuffnut said in a singsong voice.

"Huh. Oh wa-was I"

"Yeah, and at the new girl too" Snotlout replied.

This made Hiccup jump. Was he really staring at the new girl. No he couldn't have been.

"Maybe you should go and talk to her" Fishlegs said. He's always been the one to help Hiccup out in his times of need.

"What! I can't do that" he replied. Hiccup has never been able to talk to girls properly, especially girls he had a crush on.

"Of corse you can. Now go" Snotlout said as he pulled Hiccup up from their table and pushed him over towards the new girl. Hiccup practically fell at the new girls feet. He picked himself up and dusted himself off, seeing the girl quietly look up from her book.

"U-uh hi" Hiccup said, unconsciously scratching the back of his neck.

"Hi" Astrid replied, letting a small giggle escape her lips.
