Severus Snape
As Severus Snape walked back to the dingy old house he grew up in, all he could think was how he hadn't known sooner. The poor girl must've been abused awfully with his father's steadily increasing aggression. He marched down the street with his wand in hand but hidden in his robe. As he approached, he made his footsteps quieter and quieter. When he reached the door, he rapped the back of it loudly. "Open the door, father," he demanded.
The door was thrown open, and a man that looked like Severus plus thirty years and a layer of dirt and cologne sneered at Severus. "What do you want?" he growled.
"Where's the girl?" Severus hissed back. The man attempted to slam the door, but Severus was quicker. With a wave of his wand, the door flew back until it banged against the side of the house. "Do you honestly want her?" Severus asked pointedly.
His father seemed to consider for a second before he merely growled. "What's it matter?"
"I will take her. It doesn't matter if you wish for me to or not."
"Just you try, boy! I'll-"
"You won't," Severus whispered. He pointed his wand at the man. A red flash hit him square in the chest, and he fell. Severus glared down at the unconscious man before stepping over him.
He put his wand away as he searched for her. "Where are you?" he asked softly. "He'll never hurt you again," he promised as he walked from room to room. He decided to do it the easy way and risk scaring her. "Homenum revelio," he whispered. She was hiding in a cabinet in the kitchen.
"It's alright," he whispered. "Come out. I'll keep you safe. I swear." He knew she must've been terrified of him after everything their father had done. "He did the same things to me. It's not fair, is it? I'm not going to let him hurt you anymore," he promised. "I know it's scary."
She came out of the cabinet slowly. She had pale skin, black hair, and dark eyes that revealed to be blue in the right light. Her features were those of her mother, whoever she was. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice shaking.
"My name is Severus. He's my father too. I am your brother," he informed her.
"Brother," she repeated slowly.
"Exactly. Your name is Natasha, isn't it?"
The thin girl nodded to him. "Where is he?"
"Passed out. Want to leave here?" he asked, knowing his father would wake soon.
"With you?" She studied him shrewdly.
"Yes. There's not much time," he pressed. He knew it wasn't fair to come into her life and give her an impossible choice, but there wasn't time.
"Anything beats this," she told her feet.
"Good decision. Take my hand and hold tight." She apprehensively stepped forward and took his outstretched hand. "This might feel a bit strange, but you'll survive." And they disappeared with a loud crack.
They appeared in a forest. He started walking up the hill with her hand still in his. He looked down at her as he said, "Just over that hill is a place called Camp Half-Blood. You'll be able to stay there until you can go to the school I teach at."
"When will I be able to go to that school?" she asked without looking up.
"September," he answered still looking down at her. He was troubled by the idea of being responsible for her but was glad he was.
"Two months... that's a long time." She still didn't look up at him. He slowly realized she was afraid of making direct eye contact.
"Natasha, no one's going to hurt you ever again. I will be sure of that."
"Severus, thank you." She finally looked at him. They held each other's gaze for a second before she broke it off fearfully. They continued up the hill.
At the top of the hill, she saw Camp Half-Blood. Cabins, hundreds of campers, the lake, fields of strawberries, and the Big House all laid before her.
As soon as she set foot over the Camp Half-Blood boundary, she started glowing a golden color. Above her was an A with an arrow for the middle line. She looked up and wasn't sure what it meant. She looked at Severus, but he seemed slightly perplexed. "What is it?" she asked urgently.
"Two fathers," he muttered. He shook his head mystified. "You have two fathers apparently," he informed her. "Your other is Apollo, god of... a lot of things: the sun, music, poetry, medicine, and archery."
"Oh, okay. What does that make me?" As she spoke, her eyes darted back and forth.
"A demigod. You'll be talented at something he's god of because of it." She looked up at him quickly. Her expression had barely changed.
"So he's the useful of the two," she said savagely.
Severus's mouth twitched as he said, "Obviously."
She stopped and surveyed the hill as she tentatively asked, "Will I...will I have to go back to him?"
"Not if you don't want to," he promised.
"Good. Can I get rid of his name?"
"Yes, but I don't know what you'd change it to without another parent's last name."
"Are you a demigod too?" She glanced up and caught his expression. He could tell she knew his thoughts had strayed beyond the present. He was thinking about her at Hogwarts and her house.
"No, I'm a wizard. I've fought with these people in a few wars." His expression turned dark when he said 'few wars' as if he remembered them vividly.
She turned her attention back to the camp as she quietly asked, "What's your mother's maiden name?"
He didn't answer immediately but said in a voice nearly as quiet as hers, "Prince. It would suit you more than Snape."
"Really?" she questioned him.
"Yes." He rubbed his thumb absently across her hand. They walked down the hill together. "You're going to be okay now," he assured her again.
