XVIII. Goodbye

"Your girl team, please step up!"

Our team rose up for eliminations. We all had to pass. We won first, we all must pass.

"Hwang Jihyun and Lee Sujin, debut group, you pass."

We thanked YG and waited for the rest of the results. They were going great, nobody has been eliminated yet. I expected an all-pass.

"Hwang Jimin, pass."

"Kim Sihyun, pass."

"Kim Yoonyoung..."

I closed my eyes. She had to pass, I promised her she would pass after all. I couldn't break my promise, because she had worked hard practicing even if she knew her rank was second to last.

"28th place, eliminated."

I bit my lip and nodded in disappointment. One more rank. Dammit.

Everyone went over and crushed Yoonyoung in hugs. A tear slipped from my eye as I hugged her. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I broke my promise."

Yoonyoung smiled and patted my hair. "It's okay. Thank you for giving me hope though, I'll vote for you the most."

I cried harder. "Thank you for working hard."

We waved to her as she stepped off the stage and disappeared downstairs.

I frowned and wiped my tears.

Jung Sara squeezed my shoulder as we sat down in support.

"No...this is so sad." I cried as YG eliminated nearly all members from the It's You team.

"I know right...and some of them don't even deserve to be eliminated." Sujin said.

The eliminations continued, with only Lee Chandong getting eliminated from the first place team, Paradise Lost.

"He did really good too though." I said. "Sometimes, I think voting is so unfair."

Sujin nodded. "He played an important role in the vocal side of the team, yet got eliminated."

Once all team's eliminations were done, everyone wiped their tears and got ready for the top 9 results.

The boys went first, and I was surprised that Hyojin got 3rd and Byeongkwan got 2nd. Jinyoung got 1st as expected.

I hoped that I wouldn't drop lower than 2nd place.

Baek Hyeonju took the 9th spot, and Sujin moved up 4 spots to 4th place. I was surprised and happy for her. Soomin was in 3rd place.

It was done to Ryujin and I looked at her. I pointed to her, then the 2nd place spot.

Ryujin stuck her tongue out at me and did the same to me.

"Now, for 1st place..."

"She has gotten a lot of support from fans, and rose to this spot." YG said.

Woah. Can it really be me??

"JYP's..." YG paused and looked at me. "Hwang Jihyun."

My mouth slightly and I tried to stay calm as I stepped onto the 1st place podium. Ryujin followed after, getting onto the 2nd place podium. I gave her a thumbs up and she did finger guns at me.
