One year after arrival, parking lot
Christina walks towards the school, locking the car doors. While she crosses the street, a car speeds past her, nearly inches away from permanently putting her in a wheel chair. She flips the car off and continues her way towards the building. Inside everyone goes about their business in the busy hallway as she makes it to her locker.
“Christina!” Laruen yells.
Laruen was Christina’s best friend since she started here. She wasn’t much into athletics’ but she was a cheerleader for her mother’s sake. Laruen made straight A’s and never missed a day of school. She is always striving for perfection and never comes close. Laruen and Christina were two totally different people. Laruen would like to talk out her problems while Christina would just punch you in your mouth.
“Hi Laruen.”
“So are you coming to my party tonight?”
Christina raises her eyebrow, “Laruen honey look, you are having your party the same day as Stacey. Why would you think that anybody’s going to be there? I mean look at it from this point, you maybe cheerleader but you’re not HEAD cheerleader. Come on now, I thought I taught you better.”
“Yes, but.”
“Come on. It’s okay," she said pattng Laruen on the shoulder, "Just go to her party and upstage her. Duh!”
“I can’t do that. It’s mean.”
“Yeah and it was mean for her to have a party on the same day as you when you told her before hand when your party was. Just face it, she sucker punched you in the face with a party.”
Laruen frowns, “I guess you’re right. But you are going to come to the party with me right?”
“Heck no.”
“Come on please, Christina?”
“No, no, no, no, no. Never in my life.”
“Come on please! Pleeeeaze!!! I know you two don’t get along very well but can you do it for me?”
“Nope.”
Laruen frowns in hopes that Christina will give in.
“Lauren now, since when does that work on me?”
“You’re right, I guess I will just go alone and drink too much then get raped by a stranger that I took a ride from randomly when I couldn’t find my car keys.”
The bell rings.
“That’s the spirit hon, now isn’t that better than having me come and upstage you and Stacey then have a big fight because she’s gonna try and confront me? That’s the bell got to go.” Christina took off to class. She could hear Laruen yelling from behind her, “No that’s not better. Sarcasm noted!”
IN CLASS, Christina sat in the back and listened to her teacher lecture. Frankly, it was quite a boring way to start the school day. All they did was copy notes, listen to lectures, and present research projects. Christina swore to herself that her teacher had no life for all the work she gave them. Christina felt a paper ball hit her forehead. She blinks only for a second then sees Stacey smiling and blowing a kiss at her. Christina immediately flamed Stacey’s skin.
“AAAAHHHHH!” Stacey screams in pain.
“What’s wrong with you Ms. Reynolds?” the teacher asks.
Stacey continued to scream looking at her skin; she was turning red, sunburn red. “It’s all her fault!” Stacey screamed pointing at Christina.
