Chapter 33

        "Wake up!" I heard Aria scream. She shook me until I woke up. I jumped at the sight of her. She just smiled at me," Wake up, Kris. It's noon and it's prom time."

        "How did you get in my house?" I gasped in fear. She laughed.

        "Your mom let me in...now come on. Let's Prom It Up!"

Kendrick drove us to the hair salon. It was funny to see him sitting in the waiting area while Aria and I got our hair did. Kendrick's hair always looked nice so he didn't have to worry about it. He looked up at me and smiled. I smiled back. I saw him press some buttons on his phone...I felt a text come in:

1 new message from: KENNY

Kenny: You look weird with that foil in ur hair.

Me: Thanks for making me feel pretty -.-

Kenny: Ur welcome ;)

        Once our hair was done Aria and I looked in the mirror. Her hair looked amazing. She bounced her hair in the mirror then she turned to me.

        "Kris....your hair looks fabulous!" She gasped," Kenny doesn't her hair look fabulous!"

        "Yeah..." He smiled hard," It does." I quickly blushed as I grabbed Aria's hand and rushed out the salon. Net we had to go to the nail salon. I wasn't getting my nails done. Just Aria so Kendrick and I sat in the waiting area and watched her. We didn't talk we just texted...even though we were sitting right net to each other.

Kenny: What is she getting done to her hands?

Me: French Tips.

Kenny: Sounds funny :P

Me: Oh wow.

Kenny: Why aren't u getting you're done?

Me: Don't wanna :/

Kenny: Ahh I see.

        Aria rushed over to us to show us her freshly did nails. 

        "They look nice...now let's go. We have to put our dresses on." I added. They both nodded as we headed back to the car. Kendrick dropped us off at home. Aria and I sat around for a while before we went upstairs to change. Aria put on her dress and heels. She looked so stunning. I felt so insecure when I stood next to her.

        "Put on your dress." Aria smiled at me. I nodded as I quickly put on my dress and heels . She starred at me blankly," Oh God....you look gorgeous....and a gorgeous girl like you deserves this." She reached in her bag and pulled out a box that contained the prettiest necklace I've ever seen.

        "Aria...."

        "Thanks for being such an amazing friend to me. The first real friend I made at this school." We started hugging, then I heard my dad.

        "Kendrick is here." He shouted. Aria and I held hands as we walked down the stairs. Kendrick's eyes lit up at the sight of us. My mom started taking pictures of all 3 of us. Then Aria and I.

        "Kendrick....why don't you and Kris take a picture together?" Aria asked.

        "Sure." Kendrick wrapped his arm around my waist and held me. My mom snapped a couple pictures. In that moment I felt like we were a real couple again. Suddenly the door opened and Ryan, Lez, and Glenn barged in. 

        "What are you guys doing here." I asked. 

        "We get to share the limo with you." Lez hissed. I rolled my eyes at her. 

The limo ride was awkward. Kendrick, Aria, and I all sat on one side...while Ryan, Lez, and Glenn sat on the other. Glenn was going stag since he and Jennifer broke up....turns out she was using him to make her ex jealous. I felt his pain of being a 3rd wheel, I would have just asked him to be my date, but if I'm not friends with Lez....I'm not friends with any of them.

        When we got to prom we all parted ways. Lez and Ryan hit the dance floor. So did Kendrick and Aria. Glenn and I stood  by the wall. I glanced over at him every now and then. He did the same to me. I walked over to him...tired of not talking.

        "Hey." I sighed.

        "Hey...why aren't you with Kendrick?" He asked.

        "He likes Aria...and she likes him." I sighed.

        "I know your pain..."

        "How?" I asked.

        "I like Aria....and she's with him" He kicked the air.

        "Oh...dang."

        "Even if she wasn't with him...it's not like I could dance with her..."

        "Why not?"

        "Lez hates her....' He sighed.

        "So what...if you like her...you should go for it."

        "You should do the same." He nudged me. I nodded. He was right....I should have went for it with Kendrick instead of pushing him in the arms of another girl. It was too late now. A few fast songs played....then Susie by Mumford & Sons came on. I watched Kendrick wrap his arms around Aria and I lost it. I began sobbing as I ran off. I heard Glenn call after me. I ran straight into the restroom. I cried on the counter. I heard the door open. I quickly hid in the stall. I didn't want some random girl to see me cry...

        "Kris...open up." I heard her voice say. I quickly opened the stall and hugged her.

        "Lez..." I cried.

        "I'm so sorry...I know you weren't jealous.....I was jealous of you and Aria. You liked her more than me." She cried. Suddenly the door opened again. Aria.

        "I let Kendrick's game go on way to long..." Aria sighed.

        "What are you talking about..." I asked as I dried my tears.

        "Kenny was using me to make you jealous....I went along with his crazy idea because I knew you like him. Kris...I don't like Kenny. I like Glenn." She sighed. My mind froze.

        "What?" Lez shouted. Aria nodded.

        "And Lez....can we put this stupid feud behind us?" Aria asked.

        "Well I guess...." Lez smiled as she hugged Aria. I smiled. 

        "Now...go out there....and dance with Kenny..." Aria laughed.

        "As long as you dance with Glenn..." I added.

        "But...I don't think he likes me..." Aria sighed. I shook my head.

        "If you want something...you gotta go for it." I grabbed Aria's hand...and I grabbed Lez's hand," Let's Prom It Up, girls..."
