chapter 10: the date pt2

Shea did my hair. She did a cute twist out. It was cute. She put some lip gloss and light eyeshadow on. I looked kinda cute.

I just put on a cute nirvana shirt with a bleached denim vest on top. I put on some bleached capris and black converse on.

It was simple. He did say dress comfortable. Shea headed home after wishing me luck.

I looked at the clock. Oh wow. It's only 7:03. I have some time to kill.

I watched my favorite movie Alvin and the chipmunks. Don't judge me.

It was getting close to 8:00. My insides were churning. I took a pepto to calm my stomach. My nerves are jumping.

I finished my movie. The clock read 8:03. Don't worry about it. He's probably just running late.

8:03 turned into 9:03. I kept checking my phone. I know he's just late. I am sure he got stuck in traffic. That's all. I bet he's on his way now. I know he is.

My hope was shattered when it became 12:00 am and he still wasn't here.

He stood me up.

I trudged up the stairs. I slammed the door to my room. I sat down at the mirror and wiped off the eyeshadow and lip gloss.

I got undressed and hung my clothes back in my closet. I washed my face and brushed my teeth.

I threw myself on the bed as some droplets rolled down my face. I quickly wiped them off.

I sighed, turned out the light, and went to sleep.

I woke up early and made poured myself some cereal only to realize we have no milk.

Damn it.

Whatever. I walked to the corner store to buy some milk but the store was closed. Ugh. I walked half a mile for nothing.

I walked home and just made some toast. I showered and listened to jazz.

Ain't it fun by Paramore started blasting from my phone. I don't feel like answering it but I should.

"Hello?"

" Chica! How was the date? May nangyari sa inyong
dalawa? Nag....alam mo na... na ba kayo?

(Did something happen between you two? Did the both of you....you know?)

" No." I stated.

" Oh. Well how was it? ??" Shea asked

"I didn't go. " I said.

" Why?"

"He stood me up. That's why. I waited 4 hours for him to come. He never showed up or gave an explanation. He never called or texted me. God you know how awful I felt? I knew I shouldn't have said yes. " I said gloomily.

"Aww. Do you want me to cuss him out personally? 'Cause you know I will do it honey." She said back.

"No. It's ok. But thanks for that. " I said.

" You're welcome honey. You call me if you need me but Johnna is waiting for me. " She said. ( Johnna is her girlfriend. )

"Ok bye." I hung up.

Never again will I be played.
