Chapter 27: He loves me!

Living with my Aunt and Nana have not been so bad. It's way more peaceful. I mean I do miss Luke and my other friends, but right now this is the best thing.

I sometimes call Sori and Shea. I even call my friend Brendan! (Y'all remember him?) Yeah....Brendan is a cool guy. Sometimes I thinks he likes me, but we will get into that later.

I know what you wanna know is all about Luke. I mean Luke and I are alright. Honestly, he is kinda one of the best people in my life right now. He is a strange guy, but I love him.

He's going to fly down here and visit me sometime soon. He told me in one of the frequent emails we send. We started it just as a way to catch up on each other, since we are doing the long distance relationship.

I get really excited when my Lukey Pookey sends me an email. Right now, it's good to know that somebody really cares.

My therapist and I still have sessions. We do it via Skype. It works out too. She said that she is proud of my progress and how well I'm doing. I personally feel like I have a long way to go before I've made "progress".

Anyways, I finally got a cellphone! My Auntie got it for me. She said I need one, especially after...well you know.

Oh! I almost keep in touch with my mom. Speaking of which, I should call her. I talked to her about 2 or 3 days ago. I dialed her number and waited for her to pick up.

"Hello?"
"Hi mommy. How are you?"
"Hey baby! I'm doing well. How are you and my grand baby?"
"We are well mommy! Thanks."

" Ooh chile! Your lil boyfriend is missing you so badly! He's always stopping by the house to ask me how you're doing. I know y'all text or email or whatever, but he can't even seem to get enough of checking on you!"

"Really mom?!? He does?" I said in awe. "Yes baby he does. If I didn't know any better, I'd say the poor thang is in love with you!"

I almost dropped my new cell phone when she said that. He loves me! I can't believe it! All this time, guys have always used and abused me. I finally have someone who doesn't!

"Hello? Baby, are you still there?" I heard my mom say. "Oh yeah sorry mommy. It's just so refreshing to hear that. You know. After these past few months, I just need to feel loved. I'm not saying that you or my anyone else doesn't show love. I guess I just wanted to hear someone else say it. I don't think I'm making any sense." I rambled.

" Baby, I know what you mean. When your daddy was still alive, he did the same thing. Around that time, I wasn't really in love or looking for a boyfriend. Your daddy was always following me at school, always trying to talk to me, and at first it frightened me.
"Actually, it really got on my nerves but you know...I ended up loving your dad! We got dated for about 2 years, and then we got married. We had you about our seventh year of marriage. Oh my word, your daddy loved you and I so much! Oh sorry baby. That's not even what we were talking about..."

My mom and I kept talking for a little bit longer. It was good to talk to her.

Aunt Jolie was at work and Nana went to play bingo. Basically, I was home alone. But, I was ok. Anyways, the door bell rang. I didn't get it because I'm not allowed to get the door when no one is home. But the bell kept ringing so I checked who it was.

Oh my word! It was.......

Cliff hanger! Lol. Y'all probably know who it is though. Anyways it's been a minute since I gave you a real update.
