As time went on, I played with my new owners, Abigail and her parents, even though her mom was still on edge. After some time, I'd visit Dusk and General and see what they are fighting bout once more, I just found it humorous how each one spoke words like kicking dirt on each of their hooves and just looking at it without making a huge fuss, but merely arguing. The days were warm and the pool in their backyard was nice, when I merely talked to Dusk and General, the man nearly saddled up general and the lady picked me up, I yelled, "Hey! What are you doing? What's going on?"
She then put me in the backyard with the pool and closed the huge gate, she piped up, "All clear! I'm coming to saddle up one of the horses, I'll meet you on the high grounds to help round up the cattle!"
I then sat at the gate grunting, "Great, I'm still on probation by the lady...why does everyone fear me? I have made no threat."
I barked on the other side the lady looks back then the man spoke up, "She'll be fine, she needs to learn her place anyways."
Then they heard me howl, I then stopped for a moment in shock, "Whoa...didn't know I had such a voice."
The lady sighed as she got on her horse, "Abigail is working on her homework...she really wants to ride Dusk, John.."
"Betty," the man sighed, "You know what happened to her when she last rode a horse...and with that one not trained, its even worse! She will crack her skull even more, it's best to wait until she is old enough to help heard cattle by foot and stick before she learns to ride a horse."
She then slowly nods, "You're right."
As they rode off into the open plains of grass to the cattle, Abigail snuck out of the house and went into the stables, she snuck into one with a white horse and the name, "Bartholomew" on his stable gate. She grabbed the saddle and cloth and even the reigns. she smiled, "I'll prove to dad I can ride a horse!"
The white horse sounded female, "Finally, a chance to run!"
"Ah-I wouldn't be so sure about that," Dusk said in a stable next to Bartholomew, "Did you hear what her parents said? What if she is getting into trouble?!"
On the other side of Dusk's stable, General piped up, "Be careful Barth, If they find out you are running with her scared on her back..."
"Then I'll be scared and run uncontrollably in fear!" Barth yelled.
Abigail then got on Bartholomew leaving the gate open, she smiles, "Barth, you ready for a walk?"
As then buzzing was heard and then Bartholomew saw a bee in front of her face, Dusk then quietly spoke up, "Barth......do not, move, do not yell...or run; it won't mess with you if you don't mess with it."
"I....Can't! BEE!!!!!!" The horse bellowed as her hind legs were up and Abigail held tightly onto the back of the unstable horse.
She ran out of the stables and hopped over the fence neighing uncontrollably running as Abigail yelled scared. Dusk yelled, "Barth! Come back!!!"
General then neighed, "You fool! You know she has Fear Disorder, she won't listen if she is in a state of uncontrollable fear!"
"Is that really a thing?" Dusk asked with a very sarcastic tone in his voice.
"Of course it is, for a horse it is!!" General said angrily.
I then heard Abgail yelling I then had my instincts from my past come up, "IT'S ABBY!!"
I barked uncontrollably as they couldn't hear me. Looking around my surroundings, I could see a hole under the other side of the fence and the pool; quickly, I dashed to it making the hole a slight bit bigger, and slid under it. As she screamed she flew by her father and mother yelling, "HELP ME!!"
"She is heading for the cliff!!!!" her mother shrieked as her father instantly chased after the horse.
Then with a blaze, I dashed by the mom and by the father whom stopped his horse and lifted his gallon hat, shocked of my running speed as a puppy, "Well, how about that? Abby! Watch for Lilly!"
Abigail heard and looked down to see Lilly behind her, and within the span of 5 seconds I as right next to the horse, "HEY! You need to stop! You are heading toward's a cliff!"
"I can't!! A bee is after me!!!" Bartholomew bellowed, scared.
I spoke up, "There is no bee behind you! So stop!!"
"I'm Sorry I'm to scarred to stop!!" Bartholomew cried.
I then quickly rushed to the other side of her and barked angrily, with a huge neigh it turned before it hit the cliff, staying right at its side in pace with her, I dint fall off the cliff; but i could feel the dirt from the cliff side slip off as I ran by it. Bartholomew then slowed down out of breathe looking behind her, "I-It didn't chase me?"
I sat down in front of it, "Nope. What was Abigail doing anyways?"
"She...She was trying to ride me...I got spooked by the bee and.." Bartholomew stopped, trying to catch her breathe.
I then barked as i spoke, "You ran because of the bee, do you know if there was a wasp nest near by that you might have thought it was a bee?"
"I....dunno...and if there is, I'm not going back to my stable again until it's taken care of!" Bartholomew said, with a slight gasp of air within her words.
"I'll make sure the owners get the memo...They will check it out...What's your name anyways?"
"Bartholomew...but the others call me Barth for short," Bartholomew spoke sighing.
"Guessing they thought you were male before you were born....what's up with the family and names anyways?" I asked very confused.
Barth merely giggled, "Beats me."
Abigail's father rode his horse to her and so did her mother as she calmed the horse, her father spoke up grabbing Abigail's cheeks, "What were you thinking?!"
Abigail, trying to swallow her tears and her saliva slimming down her throat, "I just wanted to ride a horse...t-to prove to you that....I can take care of my own, daddy!"
Her father was silent knowing that Abigail heard their conversation with the window open in her room. Abigail's father then put Abby on his horse and he himself hopped on the horse behind Abby. He looks back at her mother, speaking, "What seemed to have spooked her this time?"
Her mother slowly moved her hands on the thigh of Bartholomew, "She isn't scarred or anything, must be something in the stable soft."
I then barked as I got up rushing to the barn and barking at them, they looked at me confused, Abby then got it, "She seems to know what spooked her...its something in the stable."
As they went into the stable I sniffed around then looked up and ran into the stable grounds and looked up hopping on hind legs then stood a soldier stance with my tail out an looking up at the hive of....wasps. Dusk then whispered, "Damn, a soldier pup..."
General then mumbled under his breathe, "...dadgum....its her..."
Bartholomew then started to hyperventilate as then she collapsed passed out on the ground from seeing the wasp nest. The mother instantly checked her, "...Her disorder..."
"Damn, the bitch be falling as if she got a heart attack," Dusk said, shocked.
"Will you stop with that dirty mouth of yours?" Gegeral yelled, angrily.
"Fine! Shot, why do you have to be so strict, old geezer?" Dusk ask with a sigh.
