The days went on. It was a little bit weird since Angus and Gregg barely talked anymore. But none of them minded it.
It was sunday morning. I woke up and looked out the window. The leaves on the trees were long gone and the town looked sorta empty without the green or flaming orange. The sky was dull gray and big clouds moved over the sky. "Looks like its going to rain today." I stated to myself and decided to go for a walk before it started to rain.

Out on the street I didn't see Mae anywhere. She was usually outside climbing trees or running along the wires by that time in the morning. I guessed she was just as aware of the rain as I was and stayed inside. "Or she's already ran to the other side of town." I said to myself and smiled as I walked towards The Ol' Pickaxe, the store Bea works at. I hadn't got much time to get to know her even though I wanted to. I saw a bear with dark brown fur dressed in a purple hoodie sit on a stairstep to a house. I'd seen her there before but never talked to her. She seemed to be a few years older than me, and why would she want to talk to a 20-year-old who's not even been an adult for so long? But as I walked by I heard her yell after me. "Hey you!". I turned around. "Yea?". She smiled. "I've seen you run by every day almost but I've never got to know your name." She said. "Oh, its January but I prefer to be called Jannie." I responded. "Thats a cool name. I'm Selmers." She continued. "Do you like poetry?" I shrugged. "I guess so, I like reading alot.". Selmers moved aside on the stairs so I could sit next to her. "Do you want to hear a poem I wrote today?" She asked. I nodded. "I'd love to." She cleared her throat. "Autumn went away, and outside my window there's a cold winter day. I can't do anything but wait, for a sunny day in may." She smiled as she finished the poem. "Wow, that was really good. I only know one poem and its not even a serious one." I giggled. "Tell me!" Selmers demanded. "Roses are red, I have a phone. Nobody texts me, forever alone." We both laughed. But before we caught our breaths from laughing I actually got a text.

Mae🐯: Hey, you up for a girls night? It'll be me, you and Bea.

I didn't hesitate to respond.

Jannie✨: I'd love to! When and where?

Mae🐯: My house at 8 tonight?

Jannie✨: Sounds good. I'll bring some snacks!

Mae🐯: 👍🏻❤

I talked to Selmers a bit more and then I headed to the Snack Falcon to get crisps and soda for the girls night.
The moment I stepped into the store I noticed Gregg leaning against the counter, reading a comic book. The store was empty, seemed like he didn't had many customers nor things to do during his workdays. "Hey Greggs!" I cheered. He instantly lifted his head to look at me and wave hysterically. He had started to return to being his old, spontaneous and joy-filled self. It made me happy to see. "Jannieeee!" He exclaimed. "Yesterday was really fun!" He spoke. I nodded. "Indeed." I smiled polietly. I went to get the things I came for and he went with me around the store, talking about how he started feeling better. I asked him where he lived now and he said that he stayed with Mae. Angus would move out of town soon and then Gregg would return to the apartment they shared before.
