700 30 80

It's dawn yet it still feels like night as the sky stays clear of clouds, only lines of white trials from the airplanes present. It was early and I needed to go check on Lola. I knew she was hurting at home, but it's expected of her to start moving on in a couple of hours.

I start the engine of my car as I start to drive my way through the city that never sleeps.  Not realizing the stop light, I brake hard on the broken road.

The books from the passenger seat next to me fall, messing up the perfectly neat order I had them in.

Yes, I might be a bookworm. It's amazing how much I could read in a couple of months. It's one of those hobbies that just sticks. Reading words on pages became a way for me to lose myself from this world I live in, and be in my own world. A place where I can call home.

I pull up to the driveway of Lola's place.  The house itself screamed snobs of the city.

I get out the car as I make my way to the double doors, standing awkwardly waiting for them to fly open.

A few minutes pass, yet no answer. I try and call Lola but I only find myself leaving a voicemail.

Maybe it's best for her to be alone. It's not like she won't be over this in a couple of hours.

I head back to my car as I press the dial button to Jenna's phone number.

" Angelina." She says.

" Hey Jenna, I'm heading to work and I thought I'd stop by Lola's but she's not answering the door." I say.

" Huh. Well you know her, she called last night and told me what happened." She sighs.

" I just need you to call her or something and make sure she's alright." I let out.

" No problem." Jenna says as she cuts the line.

I pull out the driveway as I make my way down to the hotel.

I push the door to the office as I set my purse down on the seats. I let the quietness of the office sink in as I take a deep breath.

The door flies open as Justin makes his way inside. The papers that were once in his hand are now on the desk as he stares at me with a pen in his mouth.

He ruffles his hair as he takes out the chewed pen and holds onto it.

His hazel eyes bore into mine as he holds intense eye contact. A few seconds felt like an eternity until he spoke up.

"You're here early." He says, his voice hoarse.

My cheeks turn scarlet from the anger slowly rising in me. He hurt Lola. My fists tighten. I can feel my skin getting warm, my blood was boiling.

I stood up as I faced him. Mustering up the dirtiest look.  He, on the other hand, looked amused. His eyes left the papers on the table as he faced me.

"What?" He asks sounding confused yet still holding an amused look.

"You dick." I spit out.

" Can't say I haven't heard that before." He sighs.

He lets go of the pen from his hand as he places himself on the chair. He gets comfortable before fixing his eyes right back on mine. His body faced towards me as I tower over him.
