Patrick was nowhere to be found at my place as if he disappeared. My head spun while thoughts swarmed my brain. I didn't realize you could feel such feelings for someone you barely know.
I knew it wasn't a temporary crush, he showed me just how willing he is to give his all to me. And it only proved two things.
That I was ready to give him all of me without a second look. That no matter how hard I try I can't force myself to fall in love with Patrick.
I tapped on the radio violently till perfection struck and the lyrics of the song were clear. The classic hits of '99 start to play as the sound vibrated throughout my room.
I grabbed brushes meant for my face as I placed light blush on the highlight of my cheekbones.
A casual dress for a casual day, I ready myself for the lunch date with Patrick. The sun blinding me through the crack of the window, the wind picking up to make shivers run up my spine. Patrick suggested we meet to have lunch at the lovely diner across the hotel, but that was when he didn't seem off.
He hasn't answered my calls but I risked my chances anyways. I didn't care if I looked like a fool waiting for Patrick at a restaurant.
-
I picked at the cheap cloth of the table, the neon light of the open sign struck my face every few seconds, bouncing the color red onto the side of my face. The cold food sat a few inches forward of me, a cup of red wine that soon became non-existent due to how often I took a sip.The ringing of a bell sounded in my ears, dragging my attention towards the entrance, Patrick right behind the wooden door. Patrick rushed through it, his eyes landing right on mine. A smile etched on his face.
It was small, like a nice gesture. The smile not meeting his eyes, he dug his hand into the pockets of his blue jeans. His leather jacket was tight around his bulging biceps. The skin-tight white tee outlined all of the perfections of his upper body. His shoulders swiftly move as he walks.
He walked towards my table as I smiled at him.
Patrick took a seat as he stared at me with his emotionless eyes."Is something wrong Patrick? You seem off." I frown.
"How could anything be wrong sweetheart?" He says, almost sarcastically.
"You're scaring me Patrick." I say.
"Once there was a girl with a best friend that's heart beats just for her. He knew it was too good to be true, but he didn't blame her for not loving back because love always chooses you." He says his hands stuffed into his pocket.
"Patrick stop this, please." I say irritated at the fact that he was saying is our life story.
"I was there that night Angelina. I was there but you didn't see me, it's okay I was planning on you not seeing. Save the act." He says his voice changing. A small smile was still etched on his face.
"Patrick, what you're saying isn't true, please don't do this." I feared.
"Angelina, the way he looks at you is the same way I look at you. I know what I saw. He's a lucky man. He has you but he's not realizing just how much he has you." He says.
I turn to my side to see the now curious heads turn to watch the scene of what they think is a heartbreak go down.
"Patrick, please." My throat clogs, I couldn't form words, as I try and reach over to his side of the table.
