Louise and Anne were pulled into darkness. Shadows engulfed them, their bodies shuddered involuntary from the chill.

"Your lucky I got to you quick enough. The council still want your heads." The feminine voice said.

"Ivory?" Louise questioned.

"The one and only." Ivory said, the girls could just imagine the smirk in her face.

"What are we doing?" Anne asked, looking around the darkness.

"Shadow walking." Ivory answered simply as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Bright harsh light materialised in front of them.

"And that is?" Louise asked.

"It's something Shadow walkers can do, and yes that is a type of magic. We can stretch shadows, technically teleport with in them and trap people in them. You have to be released by a shadow walker to be able to leave the shadow. If your still stuck in the shadow by the time the shadow disappears, your dead. Well it's um a bit messy. When your stuck in a shadow you can only stand in the shadow so if it goes away you go splat . Anyway it's a rare form of magic. Mainly limited to assassins, like myself. Except I'm now considered rogue for helping you two escape." Ivory explained.

"First of all cool, second of all that is just gruesome. Third of all... Why do you people want us dead!?" Anne shrieked.

"Yeah, we did nothing wrong and we are mages now." Louise piped in.

"The council doesn't give a damn right now." Ivory said.

"Oh, and can we leave the shadow, it's really cold." Anne said, goose bumps slowly spreading across her body.

"Sure, you can leave the shadow now." Ivory said. The girls stepped out of the shadow, realising that they were actually in Anne's room. Ivory stepped out of the shadow and sat on Anne's bed as if the three of them were best buddies. The girls just shrugged it off, she had just saved their lives so they couldn't really argue.

"So, friend or foe?" Anne asked without offence.

"Friend." Ivory replied.

"Okay, we will meet you at Raven tomorrow night at seven?" Louise asked.

"Yep, oh and, wear something, you can dance in." Ivory said, smirking.

"What is Raven anyway?" Anne asked.

"It's a disco party area that is on every Fridays. It's like a rave. Heaps of fun, and the perfect spot to talk about... Things that belong to the shadows." Ivory said after a slight pause. Footsteps were heard, and they were coming closer.

"That's my mum judging from how slow the steps are, and how loud they are." Anne said.

"You should go." Louise said, nodding to Ivory.

"Remember, don't be late." Ivory said, and dived into the shadows, disappearing like a ghost, just as Anne's mum walked in.

"Oh, your back. I didn't hear the door open." Anne's mum said in surprise.

"We were just quiet. Oh, can we go somewhere tomorrow night?" Anne asked.

"Where have you two been disappearing too?" Anne asked.

"Secret." Both girls answered.

"Hmm, Sarah and I have been getting worried about you two. We know you've always been quiet and keep to yourself, but you've been doing it more lately. I just hope you two aren't going out to see boys." Anne's mum said shaking her head. Both girls mouths dropped open.

"No way! We've been at the museum, and we we're wanting to go to it again tomorrow at seven. We wanted to see if they could give us, ah some jobs." Anne said, concluding her choppy excuse.
