The witch, the druid, the elf, and the exotic woman garbed in red silks, all arrived in Deena's dungeon-like abode while it was still early morning. They spoke long enough about the times of trouble they'd all been having, but there was something comforting about being in it together. They set around her living room when Deena decided to give Eldrian a call on her cellphone, though it rang a moment before.

"Interesting," she said in that voice seemingly always vacant of emotion. "Eldrian's calling. Saves me the trouble, I guess. Hello?"

"Where are you right now?" spoke an exhausted Eldrian on the other end.

"We're all at my hou—"

His mahogany door appeared behind them, and out stumbled both Kevin and Eldrian, bloody and bruised. Their wrists and ankles were severely injured, though especially Eldrian's, and they made their way in to shut the door behind them.

"Really? Again?" Deena muttered.

"Oh my goodness," gasped Arlandria. "Come over here right away, you two, and I'll patch you up as best as I can. I'll grab some bandages."

So the elf proceeded to hustle to the bathroom and back, and she began cleaning the two boys up. The warm, mystic glow of her touch aided in closing up the wounds, but she still needed to wrap their wounds in antibiotics and bandages.

"What is it that happened?" asked Renatta as this went on.

Eldrian, laying back on the floor as his ankle was fixed, sighed a breath of relief before beginning an explanation. It had been a long night for him and his best friend.

"It was Noah Jackson."

"Noah? That man hunting us?"

"That's right. He caught both of us. That guy's some kind of sadist, or psychopath, or whatever, but worst of all, he's gonna have all sorts of spellbreakers after us now. I knew it was coming. I think we all did. But there's something more immediate to deal with."

Arlandria tilted her head. "Why are you looking to me?"

"It was Noah's umbrella. He has it. The Blade of Shadows."

She gasped. "No. So Tyreth was right. It was nearby."

"And I doubt he even knows it. Noah cut straight through Kevin's shield like a hot knife through butter. Why does Tyreth want it exactly anyway?"

"All he said was that he wants to reclaim any artifacts that belong to the Elves. He doesn't like the idea that humans could be using them."

"Then I have a plan. It's really stupid, but it's all I can think to do right now."

"What is it?" asked Daveon.

"Tyreth wants the Blade of Shadows that badly, right? And Noah has it. They aren't working together. So why don't we find this elf, and let him know exactly where it is?"

"You mean work with him?" Arlandria questioned.

"Pit two dragons together. Have them burn each other. Noah won't be worrying about us anymore, and no matter who succeeds, we'll have one less foe to deal with. Right?"

"That's true, but..."

"I know you have bad history with him, Arly. I promise I won't let him do anything bad. We'll take him down if he starts hurting anybody, and he's definitely not going to get to you."

She nodded uncomfortably.

"So how are you going to find him?" Kevin asked.

Eldrian pulled out his phone. "We look the name up of a couple people who might know where they are. That is, if they haven't already been caught. I'll check it out today, in a bit, when I'm covered in less blood."
