"An elf?" shouted one of the men at the table as he slammed his fist down upon it. "You were almost killed by an elf, even though you had the Blade of Shadows in your possession? Not only that, but you lost it. Do you have any idea how priceless that weapon is?"

Two figures sat, while the blonde-haired wizard stood with an expressionless face. His shimmering beauty was always present, yet he didn't sparkle to the same degree as he usually did. He was defeated, and it showed.

"Again. I apologize," Noah mumbled.

"You failed your country, Mr. Jackson. This mysterious elf clearly has an agenda. What if he's working for Russia? Japan? He could be here to take us down from the inside, and one of our top wizards lost just like that."

"I let my guard down. Give me another chance, and I'll cut the smug grin right off his face."

The other man spoke up. "Not only that, but your report says there's multiple wizards living in Edmonton, yet you returned with only one."

"I'm sorry, but none of us knew how many there'd be, or how powerful they'd be. You can't blame me for that. I might be amazing, but even I have my limits."

"You've done a lot for us," said the first man with a sigh. "Therefore, we are willing to give you a second chance. You're the best wizard we have right now, so we can't afford to trust anybody else with this mission."

Noah brought his hand up for a salute. "I'll do anything. Thank you, sir."

"Have you ever heard of the legend of the Ley Point? I fear it's no coincidence that this elf started making these unexplainable moves in our world. Elves never come to Earth. It's possible he might be seeking the same thing we've been looking into."

"I'm afraid I haven't heard of that," the wizard replied.

"Well if this elf truly is looking for it too, we need to bring you up to speed as quickly as possible, because whoever gets there first may gain the power to do anything they wish. And we have no idea what kind of man this elf is."

"Cocky. Intelligent. He had a presence like I've never experienced. He also knew a phrase that temporarily disabled the sword, which is how he bested me to begin with."

Noah crinkled his nose. He pulled the cap off his head, and brought his fingers up through his hair. It was obvious that deep in his mind, he was reliving a frustrating memory, but he soon steadied himself to a glare towards the two men.

"And then we'll find those other wizards, and bring them in," said the first man. "There's no way that many can hide from us for long. We'll use all the best spellbreakers we have."

"Go ahead," spoke Noah as he placed back on his hat. "Right now, I only care about the elf."

"Pack up then, Noah. You're going to Mexico."

There was nothing but brown landscape and shrubs as far as the eyes could see. He had never seen a place to flat and barren. There were no signs of humanity for miles, with the closest being a road way off in the distance. It disgusted him. Tyreth scowled, as if it pained him to even stand in a place such as that.

Strangely enough, he was even more upset when he heard that he was wrong. There was life after all. Not far away, there were voices—a man and woman.

The night was darker than ever before, with no pollution of light for miles in any direction. The sky was an ocean of colours and lights, but Tyreth stepped slowly forwards, unbeknownst to the couple standing ahead. They had come to gaze upon the stars, but Tyreth didn't bat an eye at it. They were in his way.
