Chapter 10

Natsu reluctantly trudged toward the campsite, aka the makeshift clinic. How was he going to tell Lucy that he had to leave her because he was a demon. A demon!

He arrived at the makeshift clinic and walked over to Lucy's cot. Unfortunately for him, she was awake now, sitting upright, having a casual conversation with Wendy.

"Oh, hey Natsu~San." Wendy said, in her small voice.

"Hey Wendy. Mind if I talk to Luce alone?"

"Sure. I have to go heal the others anyway. See you, Natsu~San"

Wendy walked away, smiling as always.

Natsu sat down next to Lucy on her cot.

Lucy smiled wide.

"Hey, Luce..." He whispered.

"Yea?"

"I need to tell you something.."

"Shoot."

Natsu explained everything. From him being a demon to having to leave for four years.

Lucy looked Natsu in the eyes, tears visible in her's.

She smiled a sad smile.

"You should go." She spoke suddenly. She placed her hand on Natsu's.

He looked at her, disbelief in his expression.

"You sure?" He asked her.

She let a tear slip from her eye. She nodded.

"The sooner it's over with, the better.

"You know... this is the last time we get to talk to each other for the next four years."

"Yea. It is."

Lucy looked at the ground. They were currently walking, hand in hand. Lucy needed a breather.

Natsu turned her to face him. He leaned forward, and kissed her.

Lucy smiled. Natsu took her back to the clinic, let her get settled on the cot again, and waited for her to fall asleep before he left.

When she was finally asleep, Natsu kissed her forehead and walked over to Wendy and Porlyusica.

They understood completely. They told him they'd tell Lucy that he loved her and he couldn't wait to see her again.

Natsu left the clinic. A tear slipped down Wendy's cheek.

Soon enough, Natsu got to Zeref.

"You ready, Natsu?" He asked.

Natsu nodded.

"The sooner it's over, the better."

"Alright then."

They entered the Alvarez. For the next four years.

Erza, Gray, and the rest of the guild arrived at the clinic.

They didn't see Natsu and decided to ask Porlyusica.

She smiled sadly.

"He... left." Lucy said quietly, sitting up on her cot.

Everyone gasped.

Lucy explained everything to them.

Gray and Erza fumed with anger.

"HOW DARE FLAME BRAIN LEAVE YOU!"

"NATSU WILL PAY WHEN HE GETS BACK. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!"

Lucy and the rest of the guild sweat dropped at them.

Everyone left the Alvarez.

This war went by quicker than they thought.

Now they had to brace themselves for the next four years.
