**Quick Note**
This is the first day I have actually spent looking at this site, and I know my story isn't as good as some of the others out there (and I am uploading it all within an hour as I wrote it a while ago) so please excuse a few small mistakes that may be in there...
Thanks :)

"...I cast you out! Release this girl and undo your enchantment!" Siobhan chanted, her fingers working over the necklace. A clasp materialized, a section of the clay melting away. She undid the clasp and removed the necklace. She sighed and thought again about the risks of what she was about to do.
Elaine is worth it, she decided finally.
Siobhan held her breath as she pricked her finger and watched the blood trickle slowly onto the necklace. She placed it around her neck, resting it gently against her collarbone, and felt the clay slide over the clasp.
The jewel became a darker red, a colour of passion, jealousy and anger. She desired them all.
Elaine struggled to her feet and wobbled slowly over to her small bed. She collapsed and curled into a tight ball, still facing her mother. Her eyes closed and she began to suck her thumb.
Siobhan smiled, feeling power surge through the necklace.
Maybe I should be introducing her to the witches, Siobhan thought. It's great to do magic again. We can't keep living like vermin.
Suddenly, she caught herself, reality flooding back to her. Human's weren't vermin. Some of her best friends were human. That was Midnight witch talk.
Midnight witches were the bad witches. They did forbidden spells and were always trying to get Twilight witches on their side.
Siobhan was worried. She didn't want to get rid of her beautiful new necklace, but Midnight witches were known for working their evil magic into hand-crafted jewellery.
She decided to go and see Mother Imperal. She called first.
"Hello?" Mother Imperal answered with a sigh.
"It's me."
"Siobhan! You've decided to help?"
"Yes."
"Thank-"
"If you help me first. Can I come round to see you?"
"Of course. Come now." Siobhan hung up without replying.
After taking her bag from the cupboard (it was her favourite; it was red with blue hearts), she pulled Elaine out of bed and balanced her on her hip again. She used the power of her eyes to lull her into a deep sleep, and then started off down the road.
She got to Mother Imperal's centre quickly; it was just down the road.
She opened the door before Siobhan could knock. She took a deep breath, and slowly entered the very place she had vowed never to go again.
"Could you take a look at this necklace?" she asked when she was sitting on a counter in the kitchen with a coffee in her hand.
"Of course." Mother Imperal inspected the piece of jewellery for a few minutes, chanting spells under her breath.
"So?" Siobhan asked impatiently as Mother Imperal leaned back.
"It's a fine piece. It will merely magnify your desires, so it shouldn't do you any harm. Have you been experiencing any side effects?"
"I've felt compelled to re-join the witches, and I called humans... vermin." She listed, shuddering slightly.
"I think you've been wanting to re-join the witches for a while, but the necklace made you realise that on a deeper level, and pulled it to the surface, so you should be fine with that... And I know you've always harboured resentment towards the human that got in the way of your sisters summoning spell, so that's no big shocker... You'll be fine." She summarised. Her explanation was clearly intended to reassure Siobhan, but she still wasn't sure.
"Are you positive? There aren't going to be any more... 'side effects'?" Siobhan asked nervously.
"Probably not."
"Good. Elaine wore it for a while. Will she be okay?"
"Oh, it won't affect your daughter. She's a pure soul, so it can't pull any of her deepest desires to the surface. There is absolutely no way it could have done anything."
"You said before that you needed my help?"
"Yes. You were our Crone. Only you can perform the spells necessary to escape reality and delve into people's subconsciouses and find out for sure who, or what, is responsible for this."
"You have a new Crone." Siobhan stated dully, reminding her of this well-known fact.
The Crone was the strongest witch actively accepting their heritage. Siobhan had sacrificed her position when she had left the Twilight witches. The new Crone was Saleena, a Midnight witch of the worst kind.
"Saleena." Mother Imperal grimaced. "She is... very powerful, but... stubborn. She will not help the Twilight witches, even if doing so would help the Midnight witches."
"What, so you just expect me to drop everything and help you?" Siobhan demanded, outraged.
"Please?"
Siobhan sighed.
"Okay." She said quietly. "I'll help."
