Ethan's P.O.V.
I looked over to my nightstand and glanced at the present I had bought Sophia for her birthday. She said her favorite memory was when she had her recital in the 4th grade. So I got her a music box. It plays the song she performs to and has a dancer. I really hope that she likes it. Of course we are still just friends so I hope I'm not over stepping my boundaries. But I plan to ask her out today. I'm not sure. I don't think I'm moving too fast hopefully she doesn't either. Her best friend Dasha is helping me plan a surprise party for her a Red Lobster.
Sophia's P.O.V
I woke up that morning and walked into the bathroom. I started getting ready. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and did my hair in a pretzel bun. Well I know that's pretty ordinary but for me it's special. I'm a pony tail girl. I turned up the music on my radio. My phone rang and it was BFF Dasha. I had seen her at the party but I was scared to talk to her. About a week later, I was back to my old normal crazy self. I was singing in the hall, dancing whenever a song came on and having sleepovers.
Dasha: Happy Birthday! So what are we doing today?
Sophia: I don't know maybe you can come over. I have nothing planned.
Dasha: What do you mean nothing planned? I already told coach I wouldn't be at track practice.
Sophia: OK. OK. Fine we can do something.
Dasha: See I knew it. I'm taking you out to Red Lobster my treat. I know you love seafood.
Sophia: It's like you read my mind. I have been craving tilapia for the longest.
Dasha: See girl I know you.
Sophia: Cool. Let me finish getting ready.
I put on a pair of black jeans and a pink lace back peplum. The I picked out some jewelry and pink converse wedges. I looked in the mirror. I was feeling myself just a little. However, I decided to wear something else to dinner.
I went downstairs. My grandparents were waiting for me and had cooked a wonderful breakfast. They sang me happy birthday. I ran up to them and gave the bear hugs.
Sophia: OMG
Grandma: We love you!
Grandad: We wish you a merry birthday; we wish you a merry birthday and a happy party.
I just started cracking up laughing. I couldn't hold it in. I laughed until tears came to my eyes. After I calmed down I sat down and started to eat. I talked to my grandparents about my plans and they approved.
Grandma: I'm surprised you aren't going out with your "friend" Ethan.
Sophia: Well he hasn't said anything but its ok because as you said he is my friend.
Grandma: Right, for now.
Sophia: Well, Grandma it's almost time for me to go, I'll see you later, got to catch the bus.
Grandma: Ok. Love you.
Sophia: Love you too.
Grandad: Love you, and we got you a present.
Sophia: Thanks!
He handed me a small wrapped box with a bow tie. I took off the bow tie set it on the table and carefully unwrapped the wrapping paper. I saw the apple box and screamed. It was the IPhone 5C. I was super happy because I still had my 4S. I kissed my granddad on the forehead and gave my grandmother and huge hug. I ran upstairs with my new phone. I grabbed my new back pack purse I got from the mall yesterday as an early birthday present from my aunt that leaves in Chicago. I walked down the street to my bus stop. As I stood there Colby walked towards me.
Sophia: Where's Ethan?
Colby: Umm... uhh... well he had to...umm he had to go school early for...something.
I was curious why he was acting so weird but I just brushed it off.
The bus came and we climbed on. I sat by myself and finished my homework.
We got off the bus and I went to open my locker. Confetti and cards burst out. Everyone in the hall was watching then bunch of people jumped out of nowhere and screamed HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It was all my friends. I was so happy I didn't know what to say. Ethan walked up to me and hugged me.
Ethan: Happy Birthday! So I have a question...
Sophia: What? I managed to say.
Ethan: Will you go out with me??
I jumped into his arms and kissed him.
Sophia: Of course I will.
I suddenly remembered our audience after the claps and ohh and awws. I let go of him and stared into his eyes.
Ethan: Come on, I'll walk you to class.
We walked away from the group hand in hand. The whole school would probably know about within 2 hours or so, but I didn't care. We walked in silence. I leaned my head onto his shoulder. I love him so much. It was like he was made for me. This is the best birthday of my life.
Ethan's P.O.V.
I was ecstatic that she said yes. My plan went just as I hoped it would do. It went even better. I'm sort of bothered though. I was hoping I'd kiss her first. But it really doesn't matter. Plus our relationship should be its own it doesn't have to be all stereotypical, traditional relationship. I looked down at her and she was beaming. Her eyes sparkled and her smile went from her to Asia. What else could I wish for? We walked into 1st period together and all eyes were on us. Everyone knew a little faster than I thought they would. We sat down next to each other like we always do. I sat through class thinking about my plans for tonight. Way to soon class was over. I grabbed Sophia's handed helped her up gave her a forehead kiss and walked her out. I walked her to 2nd period and told her I'd meet her there after class.
