I got into the car, and my mother pulled away from our house. I had a weird feeling in my gut, and was fiddling with my thumbs. I honestly was afraid. I mean I got out of the institution the last quarter of school. I was on my senior year, and had no friends. Nor did I think I was going to make any. I had always been alone anyways. So it wasn't really anything new. My mom stopped the car, and we have arrived at my high school.
I look over at my mom, and she gave me a warm smile. "Just find your office, and someone will show you too your classes." She said smiling. I nodded, and grabbed my bag. I opened the door, and got out."Bye love you!"
"Love you too." I said as I closed the door. Through the window she gave me one more smile before driving off. I sighed, and started walking towards the door. The parking lot was quiet. Not because it was empty, no. Because I had arrived. Everyone was staring, pointing, whispering, and keeping their distance from me. I sighed as I pushed the school doors open. Entering a silent hallway. Again student's were staring, pointing, whispering, and keeping their distance.
After walking for a couple minutes in the silent halls I had found my way to the office. I was about to open the door when I heard a voice.
"Lane." It whispered. It was coming from my right. I look towards my right, and down the hall. There stood the handsome brown haired kid, that was skateboarding by my house. He was talking to his friends not noticing my stare. "Lane." It whispered again. Call me crazy, I don't care cause I've been called it before. But what if the voices are telling me the truth. What if that is Lane and he's in danger? "Help Lane!" It yelled. Just then the door opened almost hitting me. Some kid mumbled a 'sorry' and walked away. I took a deep breath, and finally walked into the office. There were three lady's in here. Two on the phone behind a huge desk. One looking at some papers. I decided to go up the lady looking at the papers. I walked up to her, and she quickly glanced up at me. She smiled politely.
"Hi you must be Shay White?" She asked. I nodded my head and smiled. She looked through some papers, and handed me two of them. "Okay so here is a list of your classes, and a map of our school. If you need any help or questions come to me." With that I smiled and left the room. I groaned as the bell had rang, and the students left the hall. My first class was Science, and I had Mrs.Riley. After searching for about ten minutes I had found her class. I opened the door slowly, and walked in. The classes heads snapped towards me as did the teachers. Mrs. Riley gave me a small smile, and I handed her a note telling her that'd I'm a new student.
"Well student's looks like we'll being have a new student." She said. "Everyone meet Shay." Some people gave me glares, and mumbled some words.
"Freak." A blonde headed chick muttered in the first row. Some of her friends laughed.
"Ouch. That one hurt. I'm so offended!" I said sarcastically rolling my eyes. Blondie gave me a death glare as I smirked, and some students snickered at my remark.
"Okay then." They teacher said. "You may take a seat by Lane." She pointed to Lane. My heart dropped to see the handsome brown haired kid looking at me smiling. Great my voices are back, and they were right. Lane is real...But these voice's were different. They weren't scary or evil, no. They were worried. I nodded and took a seat next to him. I glanced at him, and looked at his eyes. His eyes were a light green with grey flecks in them. I took a deep breath, and started focusing on the teacher.
"Save Lane!" The voice yelled making me jump a bit. Which earned me strange looks from my class mates. I ignored them. I mean I really couldn't talk back to them, or people would think I'm crazy. Well more crazy than they already think I am. "Help Lane! Don't let him go to prom!" Prom? To be honest I hadn't even thought about prom. And how did they expect me to save him from prom? I mean what could happen at prom! Nothing. That's for sure. But that little voice inside my head is saying the voices are right. I just shook of the thoughts, and put my attention back to the teacher.
The bell had rang and the students had left the room. I sighed and grabbed my things and walked out the door. I found my locker, and opened it and shoved some books in it. I sighed and looked down the hall. Kids were looking at me weirdly, and some giving me glares. I saw Lane talking to his 'buddies'. It was clear Lane was real, but I don't understand how he's in danger. I mean the voices were right about Lane actually being real, but that doesn't mean they were right about him being he danger.....But what if they were right? What if he was actually in danger? But everyone seemed like they loved him. I mean who'd wanna hurt the popular kid that everyone adored? But I guess some people would out of jealousy, or anger. Lane seemed like a nice guy, but was he truly? He could be a bad guy and did someone wrong, and now they want revenge. I shook the thought's off because I was taking this to far. I mean they were just voices. But what I don't get is why these voices are gently, and not evil. But the other were crazy, bad, evil, scary. Someone slammed their locker next to me, and I slightly jumped. The slam had fully took the thoughts out of my head. I glared at the kid who slammed their locker. They just walked away smirking.
"Idiot." I said. He turned around to say something, but just shook his head and walked away. I shrugged and leaned against my locker. I looked towards Lane as he chattered away to his friends. He laughed, and talked. Who would want to hurt him? I don't think the voices were right. I decided to ignore them for now. I took my attention of my mind, and back on Lane. And if you were wondering.... Yes I am staring.
Stockerish? Yes. I'm going to admitt that. Lane looked my way, and smiled towards me. I didn't smile, and shook my head. He raised his eyebrow and frowned. The bell rang, and I walked away to my classroom.
Oh Lane.....Are you really in trouble?
