Chapter Twenty-Seven

*Lane's P.O.V*

I could feel a emotion in the pit of my stomach, like fear. Something bad was going to happen, and I could feel it. I glanced at Shay every now and then to see if she could feel it too, but her face remained emotionless. I tightened my fist, and Liam opened the door to our Prom. There were many lights of each colored going on and off in the cloud of people, people dancing together so closely, some even slow dancing and it wasn't even a slow song.

It didn't take long for me to lose everyone. I was sucked into the huge mass of people dancing. I looked around everywhere, trying to find a friend. By friend I mean Shay, Liam, Callie or Kaden.

"Where are they?" I asked myself out loud. I looked around, but no sight of them. But I did catch a sight of something. A huge glob of smoke by the entrance doors, but with an blink of an eye it was gone. My heart clenched. Is Zahra here so quickly?

I almost just ten feet up when I felt someone touch my hand. I whirled around to see Shay.

"There you are!" She said with relief written all over here face. "I thought I had lost you."

I shook my head no, "No I'm here, and fine." I said and she smiled.

"Let's dance." She said.

After an hour of dancing my heart out with my friends, I was getting tired. I went and got a drink, but I still felt uneasy. Like something was watching me, spying on me. I've felt like this for a couple of years now. Before I had actually even heard voices, or anything. I had always felt something watching me. Weird, huh?

I took a sip of my punch, and was about to go back to the dance floor when someone grabbed my hand again. I looked back expecting Shay, but instead I came to face to face with Zahra.

She smiled, and I glared. I tried to jerk away from her so I could run, but her grip was too strong.

The last thing I remember is being black smoke around me before I had blacked out.

*Shay's P.O.V*

I had a nice time dancing, but Lane had seemed to disappeared again. I thought he was fine, but I was still worried. I decided to go and find him. I looked around everywhere, but he was no where in sight. I started to get worried, I started asking people where he was but they said they didn't know.

That's when I seen Kaden. I walked up to him as some girl held, and tapped on him. The girl she held hands with was very pretty, she had brown doe eyes looking curiously at me, long brown hair, average height, skinny, a bit tan. This must be Kadens girlfriend!

"Yes?" Kaden asked as he pulled his girlfriend a bit closer.

"I can't find Lane." I said sighing, "And I'm scared. Have you seen him?"

"No I haven't." He said as panic washed over his face. "Do you think...?"

I shrugged and sighed. "We have to find him." I said as he nodded.

"Find who Kaden?" The girl finally said.

"No one." He quickly said, she was about to respond but he quickly cut her off, "Um Shay this my beautiful girlfriend Charlotte, Charlotte meet Shay."

She gave him a questioning look, but just shrugged. "Nice to meet you Shay." She said smiling.

"Nice to meet you too." I said as she put her hand out to shake. I looked at her hand and shacked it, but then i noticed to bracelet on her wrist.

It wasn't any ordinary bracelet, it was the one we needed to stop Zahra! I remember the bracelet very well, and that's it!

I looked at the bracelet and then back at Kaden.

"That's a lovely bracelet where did you get it from?" I asked her as she smiled.

"My grandma." She said glancing at her bracelet.

"Well it's very beautiful." I said.

Kaden gave me a weird look, but didn't say anything.

I was about to say something again, but a voice cut me off.

"Lane!" A voice screamed with sheer panic making me wince. "She has him!"
