A/n: I obviously do not own the Joker, Harley Quinn or Jonny Frost. This will be my interpretation of the Joker/Harley story and Joker's thoughts in a way that makes sense in my story. I do not in any way claim their original story as my own idea. Hope you like!
Joker had been in Arkham Asylum for a few weeks and he already had his plan for escape. His new psychiatrist was a young, pretty blonde. She was no Allie, but she was still sexy nonetheless. She was intelligent, he could tell, but naive. He could use pretty little Harleen Quinzel to get back to his Kitten and his little boy. They'd only had a handful of sessions and he could already tell she was intimidated yet attracted to him. It was only a matter of time for him to get what he needed out of her.
Joker always payed close attention to her, mostly because she was attractive, however he had to convince her that he was romantically interested in her. Dr. Quinzel was seated across from him at the table. He was in his usual straightjacket. Also, per usual she was trying to get more information out of him. He'd give away tiny tid bits to pacify her, or rather her superiors, just to prove she was making "progress" with him. But unfortunately for Dr. Quinzel, there is no way to know if he's telling her any truth at all.
"You are looking beautiful today, Dr. Quinzel." She looked down at her hands on her clipboard. "Mr. J, you're supposed to be answering my questions. You promised." Her attempt to change the subject had failed. "You don't think so?" "Don't think what?" He stared into her eyes. "You don't think you're beautiful?" It was clear that she was vulnerable as she blushed. "Uh-I'm just not used to being told so directly. And you say things like that a lot."
"I mean it. I admire you, Doctor." He had leaned forward in her direction. "Harleen." She corrected him. He told her to call him Mr. J because he knew it would create a personal vibe between them. Now she was getting on the same page as him. "What do you want to know, Harleen?" She gawked at him for a few seconds, not expecting those words. She looked at her clipboard quickly then back at him. "Um-what about your family? Do you have any?" "Not anymore." "So you did. What happened to them?"
"I got into trouble and had to leave them." "Got into trouble?" "I got sent away as a kid." She looked at him inquisitively. "Why were you sent away?" "Behavioral problems." "Did something happen?" He leaned forward again. "You know, I've been meaning to ask you, Harley- do you mind if I call you Harley?" She shuddered a bit, "I mean if it means that there's an element of trust between us then yeah." "Good." He smiled widely, "Anyway, Harley, could you get someone to let me out of this?" He gestured to his straightjacket. "It's not like I'm going to hurt my pretty psychiatrist."
"Okay, yeah." She got up and went to the door. A moment later a guard came in with Harleen. "Are you sure about this?" "Yeah he won't do anything." Joker's straightjacket was removed, however, handcuffs were placed on him. Harleen became mesmerized by the smile tattoo on his hand. He noticed her looking and grinned, "You like it?" She looked back up at his face.
"You should see the rest of them." Harleen leaned back in her chair. "Mr. J, are you trying to seduce me?" He pretended to be shocked. "Why, I wouldn't dare, Harley." She gazed into his eyes for several seconds then shook off her feelings. "What about your parents?" He looked away from her and stared off into space. "Well, my father was very angry and he beat me all the time."
Joker continued, "He never got my jokes. But that never stopped me from laughing." Harleen was silent for a moment. Then she spoke up, "I think that's enough for today." She started to get up from her seat. His handcuffed hands flew on top of hers stoping her in her tracks. "I don't want you to go." She started to breathe heavily. Joker got up from the table and walked over to her side.
"Mr. J-" He interrupted her by putting his hands on either side of her face and kissing her hard. Harleen was entranced for several seconds before harshly breaking away from him. "I can't do this!" She headed for the door quickly. "What is it that you can't do, Harley?" "I don't think I can treat you anymore. What's going on here is completely unprofessional!" Joker got closer to her, "I feel as though we're so similar, like I can really trust you."
"I have never felt this way before." His lies were getting so easy to tell at this point, "Why should we fight it?" "Because, Mr. J! I'm your psychiatrist and you're my patient! I can't be falling in love with you!" She was becoming frantic. He grabbed her arm and looked into her eyes to calm her down. "Relax, Harley. Let's sit back down, and I'll tell you whatever you want."
Harleen got calmed down and the two of them resumed their therapy session. Some amount of Joker's lies later, he changed the subject once again. "I wish I could bust out of here and run away with you." She stared at him, almost in awe, but mostly in shock. "We can't be saying things like that." "Why not? We're just two people that genuinely admire each other. What's wrong with that?" "Everything, Mr. J, don't you understand?" "I know, I know. But I could give you an amazing life outside of here. There's just one thing you need to do for me." Curious, she played along, "What would that be?"
The following night, the asylum was filled with Joker's henchmen, all armed with guns supplied by his new lady friend. The entire staff was dead. Jonny Frost was instructed to strap down Dr. Quinzel. She struggled fiercely, but was no match for Joker's right hand man. The next thing she knew, her obsession was standing above her, looking angry as ever.
A/N: Okay you can just imagine what happened in Suicide Squad when he shocked her. Sorry if this wasn't terribly accurate, it's just my interpretation. Hope you like it anyway!
