She climbed from the swirling mist, but it washed around her like water, almost like it didn't want her to leave its presence.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"Come."

A shadow moved beyond the mist.

The she-cat crawled faster in the mist. A rock appeared in front of her.

As soon as the tom leaped on the rock, the swirling mist faded.

The she-cat blinked and looked at the tom.

"We're going to send you back," The tom meowed, his flame pelt rippling.

"How?" The small she-cat leaned forward, her white pelt turning dark as the tom's shadow loomed over her.

"But you'll be born again," The tom meowed. He flicked his tail. "By Ivypool."

"What?" The she-cat hissed. "I was born from Cinderheart! I just have to be born from her again."

"Softpaw! Cinderheart isn't expecting anytime soon!" The tom hissed. "Do you want to be reborn or not?"

"I guess I'll be reborn," Softpaw mewed. "But when I am, I'll tell Ashstar and Cinderheart that I'm Softpaw!" She cried.

"Good luck with that," The tom rolled his eyes. "You won't remember a thing!"

The she-cat looked uncertain.

The tom touched his nose to her forehead.

Mist swirled around them again, hiding what was happening to the cats.
