the knife on your skin

behold the fat it's reducing.

it's painful to see it happen

from chubby to bony so rapid.

tears streak down your face

food lurching inside to find a place

but in the end it all comes out

the leaving calories is all it's about.

the gum on your tongue stays all day

the fatigue, the thirst is all you gotta pay

for a body approved for display

tinted yellow amongst the red scars you've slain.

the less you consume, the more it grows

your highs have now become your lows

there's no emotions - happy or sad

it's only count your calories, reduce your fat.

you ache to write the note and forever bail

erasing, hoping, yet mourning

but the numbers on the scale

tilting, shaking and finally falling.

the cheeks that once got squeezed

have now hollowed out and matured

the way your mirror laughed and teased

alas innocence soon turned to insecure.

but don't burn away

please

don't burn away

for me.
