Reece
Asher is afraid; like, legitimately afraid. Who is this man that has made his heart rate pick up and make him want to practically wet himself. Okay, ew! That would be so gross if he did that right now!
"Asher, get off her." He didn't move. "Right. Now."
"Y-yes, sir..." With slow and cautious movements, Asher climbed off me and faced the man. "It's not-"
"Save it." The man snapped. "I don't want to hear it. I am ashamed of you, Asher. I honestly thought you would have more sense in that brain of yours to actually do something and go out and find your mate!"
"But I-"
"No excuses!" I peeked around Asher, who was facing the man. His hair was a light brown and his ocean green eyes looked as if he wished he could turn Asher to ashes. Asher, ashes. Ha, I crack myself up.
"Get over here, son." Son? Oh God. This is worse than what Asher was saying before. I am sitting in the presence of Asher's father.
"But, dad, I-"
"But what, son?" He interrupted. "But what? You've been doing nothing but screwing around ever since your wolf abandoned you. The least you could have done was talk to your mother and I so we could have tried to help you. But no. You kept to yourself and brought home every and any slut of a girl you could find just so you could satisfy your needs."
I felt Asher go rigid. "Now that's not even remotely true!"
"Isn't it?" He questioned. "So says the guy who was just now trying to rape this girl in his very own bedroom!"
"It's not-!"
"Stop!" I cried, not liking the bickering. "Please, no more. You're family; family doesn't fight with each other."
"And you are?" Asher's father finally acknowledged me.
"Reece, sir." I replied, sitting up and straightening my spine. "Reece Merwin, Asher's true mate." Happy sparks danced under my skin as I said those words.
"Mate?" He took a step closer.
"Yes, dad." Asher addressed him. "Had you have just stayed here and not gone off on your 'trips with mom' all the time, you would have known that about a couple months ago, my wolf awoke again and we found Reece."
Asher's father scrunched his eyes part way in concentration, studying me. "You're... you're his...?"
I swallowed, trying to stay calm in the presence of Asher's father. "Y-yes, sir. I am."
He faced his son again. "And you haven't said this sooner, why?" He accused, making this all Asher's fault.
"You were never here!" Asher snapped back, his confidence returning. "You were never there, practically dumping Tyson and I on Alpha Nyl's hands just so you could get away with mom!"
"Don't you know how to use a phone?" His father growled. I shrunk back behind Asher. "Isn't that what you teenagers do now? Nose in the phone, not once looking up?"
"Your phone has been here the entire time!" Asher retaliated with. "Both yours and mom's have been here the entire time you've been gone! Nearly a year!"
"That is enough, Asher!" His dad's face was turning red and his eyes a coal black.
"I'll, um.... be downstairs..." I whispered and quickly slid off the bed. I felt Asher reach for me, but I was already at the door, then gone. That's when the voices rose and the tempers flew. I cringed and quickly made my way downstairs, bumping into Tyson on the way down.

Werewolf"Asshole! How many times do I have to tell you?! I am not going to fall for the cliché bad boy just because you supposedly love me! I don't want to be with you!" I shouted at Asher, my anger boiling over. "But, Reece..." He said my name as if he was...
