The next day I woke up and quickly freshened myself up before Madam Pomfrey came to check on me. She refused to let me go back to my dorm the night before as she still wasn't fully convinced that I had fully recovered, even though I kept assuring her I had. I ran my fingers through my hair and examined the cuts on my face as I heard Madam Pomfrey's footsteps gradually grow closer to me. Quickly I turned around as she reached my hospital bed, my new school robes hanging loosely on my body as they weren't the right size.

"Are you sure you feel ready to return to lessons? You've been through a lot, Miss Ravenwood..." Madam Pomfrey said as she trailed off, looking at me with overwhelming sympathy in her eyes.

"I'll be fine. It'll help take my mind off things." I said trying to reassure her. A small smile grew on her face.

"I'll just let you know in advance that things have changed a lot since you left, with Professor Umbridge being headteacher and all now." She said quietly as she gently placed her hand on my arm. I looked at her confused.

"Headteacher? What about Professor Dumbledore?" I said my tone was full of worry.

Had something bad happened to him?

Madam Pomfrey stood there looking uncomfortable for a moment before she finally let out a deep sigh.

"The Ministry believed that Professor Dumbledore was no longer able to run the school as he once used to. You must understand Rose. I'm saying this for your sake, don't do anything to get yourself into trouble. The Ministry is already suspicious of you, god knows what they'd do if they knew..." She said with a distant look in her eyes.

"Now go on then, you're not too late to go to the hall and get yourself some breakfast." She said disregarding the subject as she handed me a book bag while giving me and encouraging, yet unconvincing smile.

"Thank you," I said hugging her before I disappeared out of the hospital wing and down to the hall.

As I approached the hall I could hear the dull sound of the conversations which were taking place. Their tones seemed different from what I remembered, the warmth and happiness had disappeared into a cold hum of dry conversations. A sickly feeling churned in my stomach as I approached the doors. I hadn't seen anyone since I left unannounced. But one person was nagging on my mind in particular. Draco.

What would I say to him?

It wasn't like I could just go and tell him that his father was a death eater and tortured my Aunt before killing her. It felt as if my heart was going to burst out of my chest as I stood there at the entrance, trying to summon enough courage to walk in. Closing my eyes and breathing out deeply I began to walk into the hall but a hand covered my eyes and a strong grip around my wrist tugged me down the corridor...

Eventually, the hand was removed from eyes to reveal Draco standing in front of me. Immediately I turned my head to avoid eye contact with him. Memories of the horrible night flash through my mind as I closed my eyes while a tear trickled down my cheek. I kept telling myself that he wasn't the same as his father, but I couldn't help but see the similarities between them. My thoughts were interrupted when Draco placed his hand on my cheek, turning my head so that I was facing him again. His large hands cupped my face as his fingers gently traced over the cuts that now covered it.

I could feel warmth flooding through my body as he continued to gaze at me, his eyes glassy with tears. His touch made me feel alive, it made all the emptiness I felt be replaced with an explosion of happiness. I brought my hand up and placed it over his, rubbing it with my fingers as I moved my face and planted a kiss on the back of his hand. A small smile played at the corner of his lips as he leaned in and kissed me. My entire body felt alive as his soft lips pressed against mine. He pulled away looking at me again before he picked me up allowing me to wrap my legs around his torso.

"You came back..." He whispered to me gently as I played with his hair.

"I promised you I would," I replied as Draco's face lit up.

Before I knew it my back was pressed up against a wall as Draco began to kiss me harder. My hands weaved their way through his silky hair as our mouths parted allowing our tongues to touch. Moans escaped my mouth as he gradually started kissing my neck. I could feel his hands gradually undoing my tie before he started unbuttoning my shirt. He moved his hands under my top gripping the bare skin around my waist as he continued to kiss me. I could feel the heat radiating off our bodies as our breathing got heavier and I unbuttoned his shirt. Suddenly the bell rang causing us to jump, Draco placed me back down on the floor as we both started to button up our tops again before we had to make our way to our lessons. We stood there staring at each other with smiles on both of our faces. When I was with him I could forget everything. I could forget who it was, what I was. And most of all he made me feel alive again. Slowly we made our way out of the classroom, receiving a few weird looks off some of the first years which were lined up outside of the classroom waiting for their Professor.

We began to make our way down the corridors, our hands entwined with each other's until we reached the end of the corridor and parted ways. Allowing our hands to unravel as I turned around and walked to my lesson. A huge smile plastered over my face. Before I reached my class and opened the door, I turned around to look back at where Draco was. I could see his blond hair disappearing amongst the clusters of students and as he walked away, he walked away with my heart completely and utterly in his hands...
