The next morning, everybody was quickly moving, ready to depart for their journey to wherever they were going. I was sitting on the counter, munching on a bowl of cereal that we had for Ness as I watched everybody rush around. I had been the only smart one and packed last night.
"At least we get to go to London again. We haven't been there in a long time." Esme smiled, stuffing her passport into her bag.
I pouted. I had always wanted to go to London.
Jake walked out, his bag over his shoulder. "All right. Let's get this show on the road."
The Cullens went outside to talk to Sam while I stayed inside with Ness. "Are you excited? You get to leave our boring state."
The little one looked up at me with curious eyes. "I guess. I'm worried though. What if they don't like me?" She asks.
I chuckled. "I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Jake, Daddy and I didn't like you at first. But when we finally set eyes on you it was impossible not to love you. Anybody who doesn't love you is crazy."
Ness smiled as the rest of the Cullens plus Jake came back inside. I grabbed the note from my sister's hand and quickly read it.
'Grab as many witnesses as you can before the snow sticks to the ground. That's when they'll come.'
I understood her instructions, and I understood why they had left us. They were off looking for answers, and couldn't tell anybody. I was upset, knowing that one of my best friends was going to be away for a while, but I still had Rose.
Carlisle, Esme and I were the only ones who hadn't left yet. "All right Doc. Where are you sending me?" I questioned.
The blonde vampire handed me a plane ticket and an address. "Mystic Falls, Virginia. I have an old friend there who'll be able to help us."
I nodded my head, and hugged Esme. "Bring me back something from London."
She nodded and tucked my hair behind my ear. "Be safe, call me when you land."
Esme had taken a liking to me when I first showed up at the Cullen house, about two years before Bella showed up. I had been the first and only human friend that Jasper and Rose made. Esme thought of me as her daughter, and I thought of her as my mother.
I smiled and rushed out of the house into my car. I took a deep breath before I started the car and drove off towards Seattle.
As I waited in the Security line, I sent a quick text to my dad. 'Taking a short vacation. Be back soon.'
My dad didn't monitor me as closely as he did Bella. I was the older sister, and the more trustworthy one at that.
I slipped off my and placed my bag into the plastic bin and went through the body scanner. Once they cleared me, I walked to the nearest Starbucks and grabbed a Cinnamon Dolce latte and sat down until they called my flight.
I spent 8 hours on a plane, bored out of my mind. I had finished the book that I had packed in my bag and my phone was halfway dead. When we finally landed, the first thing I did was go and grab another coffee.
I sent Esme a quick text telling her I had landed in Richmond and was on my way to Mystic Falls.
I walked to the Rental Car place and then hit the road. It wasn't a very long drive, maybe 2 ½ hours. But as soon as I drove into the little town, all eyes were on me. I chuckled at the townspeople. This was obviously a small town where everybody knew everybody and outsiders were often never here.
I paid them no attention as I kept driving. My phone buzzed in the seat next to me, but I ignored it and kept driving.
When I finally pulled into the driveway of my destination, I was awestruck. This was bigger than the Cullens'. Whoever lived here, obviously had a lot of money. I turned the car off, and grabbed my phone and purse and walked up to the front door.
I knocked three times and waited. Nobody answered. So I knocked again. I felt my phone start to ring in my back pocket. It was Carlisle.
'Hi... yeah I'm here... No they haven't been informed... Why? Because nobody's answering the door... I knocked twice and still nobody answered the door... All right, I'll knock again...'
I knocked on the door a third time, and still nothing.
'I don't think anybody's home...'
Before I could say anything else, I was met with the angry face of a . "Can I help you?"
'I gotta go... Yes, I'll let you know how it goes... Bye Carlisle.'
I hung up the phone, and faced the girl.
"Hi."
She looked over me with an unreadable expression on his face. "What do you want?" She demanded.
I dug the piece of paper out of my purse and read the name. "Is Niklaus here?" I questioned, struggling with the name.
The blonde's eyes narrowed into slits. "That's my brother. What do you want with him?"
I didn't know what to tell her. Carlisle had sent me here for Niklaus and his siblings.
"I'm here on behalf of Carlisle Cullen."
