It was Christmas. The snow was sticking. It was Christmas and the snow was sticking. We didn't have much time left until the Volturi came for us.

watched my sister with her husband, watching the snow outside the window.

I watched with a forced smile on my face as Sue helped Dad clean up the kitchen, and Nik sat eating the rest of the food with Seth and Leah.

I had apologized to the boy for drinking him like a juice box, and he just smiled and brought me into a hug.

"Alright! Present time! Let's go! Seth, Leah, Niklaus, stop eating. Jake, you start. Get it going." Dad demanded.

I watched with amused eyes as Nik took another bite, clearly ignoring my dad's instructions.

"That's no way to win him over." I tease, sitting down next to him.

Nik laughed, and kissed my cheek.

"It's impossible not to love me, darling."

I snorted. "Tell that to Caroline, Tyler, Finn, Kol, Elijah, Rebekah, Stefan, Damon, Katherine..." I listed, smiling as I did so.

Nik rolled his eyes, and pulled out a small package. I looked at him with concerned eyes.

"You should not have gotten me anything." I tell him.

He sent me an innocent smile. "It's our first Christmas, and I wanted to."

I roll my eyes, but take the package anyways.

Nik watched with excited eyes as I tore off the wrapping paper, and opened the box to find a drawing of me.

I realized it from when I had been staring off into space listening to the stories of the Mikaelson family, as well as the Salvatores, and Katherine.

In chicken scratch handwriting in the lower right corner read, 'Thank you for dancing with my demons.'

I looked up at Nik with teary eyes. "Thank you."

He smiled, and brushed the tears off of my cheek. "No, thank you."

A soft, but passionate kiss was shared between the two of us before other gifts were exchanged.

I looked at Ness with fond eyes, as she unwrapped a bracelet that Jake had made her.

"What did you get me?" Seth asked his sister excitedly.

Leah looked over at her brother with an amused face.

"I'm not giving you anything."

Seth looked at his older sister with wide and hurt eyes. "Hey! No, come on, what did you get me?"

I laughed as the Clearwater siblings continued to bicker back and forth, while Bella handed Dad her and Edward's present.

"It's a 5-day fishing trip to Fraser River. It's for you and Sue." Bella told him.

We all knew it was to get him away from here during our showdown with the Volturi. I hated thinking that this would be the last time that he'd see Bella and I.

While Dad spoke with Bella and Sue about us trying to get rid of him, I pulled out my own gift for my father.

"Unlike Isabella, I know how to wrap presents." I say, handing the square to him.

It brought a smile to my face to see the tears in his eyes as he looked at the old picture of us in the snow.

"I found it in an old box of mine, I thought you might like to have it." I tell him, knowing that he'd have something to remember me if things went south, and I had to become the legal guardian of Ness.

"I love it Piper. Thank you." Dad said, wiping away his tears.

I rested my head on Nik's shoulder as more gifts were open. I savored the moment, of my whole family together. Sue, Seth and Leah would be apart of the family, that I could tell. My dad loved Sue more than anything.

There was one last gift left, and I smiled as Nik handed it to my dad. "What are you playing at son?"

Nik laughed, and motioned for him to open it. I was curious to see what it was myself.

The wrapping paper was discarded onto the floor, and a huge smile came over my Dad's face.

He turned the present around to reveal a family portrait of Dad, Bella, Ness, Edward, Sue, Seth, Leah and I.

"Nik, you did not have to do that." I tell him, a small smile on my face.

"He does if he want me to like him." Dad replied.

Nik smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Merry Christmas, love."

"Merry Christmas, Niklaus Mikaelson."
