Three days later, I found myself and Ness standing at Dad's door.
He and Sue had just gotten back from their fishing trip, and I was about to deliver the worst news possible to them.
I knocked on the door and waited. Ness had tears running down her pink cheeks, and I knew she blamed herself for what happened to her parents.
My dad opened the door with a smile, but it dropped as soon as he saw his crying granddaughter.
"Piper? What's wrong?" He asked.
I bit my quivering lip and walked inside the house. The Christmas decorations were still up, Nik's painting our our family hanging above the fireplace.
"Daddy, something's happened." I started. Ness had more tears falling out of her eyes as I sat her down on my lap.
"Piper, what happened?" My dad quickly asked.
Sue walked into the room. "Charlie?"
I couldn't look at her without seeing Leah's face.
"While you two were on the fishing trip, something happened. Bella and Edward had gone out to get something. It was snowing and the roads were icy, they didn't see it coming..."
I felt my breath catch in my throat. I had tears running down my face as I tried to explain to my father how his daughter had 'died' without revealing that she had died a vampire.
"Piper what happened?" My dad asked, although something inside of me told me he knew where I was going.
"A tractor trailer driver was drunk and going full speed. Bella and Edward didn't see him coming until it was too late. They hit head on, Bella and Edward being thrown from the car. Daddy... she's gone."
My father sat frozen for a moment, before he stumbled forward and fell on his knees, tears pouring out of his eyes.
"No... no, she's not." He muttered.
I nodded my head as Ness hugged me and cried into my shirt.
My dad held his knees to his chest as he cried, Sue rubbing his back.
"There's something else too. Um... Leah needed something so she went with them. I am so sorry Sue, she's gone."
The woman looked up at me with teary eyes, but I think she knew the truth. Tears fell down her cheeks, and she just nodded.
Ness and I spent four hours crying on the floor with my dad.
Two days later, the Cullens, Denalis, the Traditionals, the Quileute tribe, Ness, Mom, Dad, most of the town of Forks and stood in the snow as we said our final goodbye to Bella, Edward and Leah.
A sea of black covered the white ground. I had tears falling down my cheeks as the pastor spoke about my sister and her husband. Ness clung to my jacket, tears falling out of her chocolate brown eyes.
