I sit at the Kavanaugh's kitchen table observing the way Kate and her parents interact carefully. Seeing the way their attitudes are towards Kate and I only makes me more grateful that everything worked out with mine. Of course when I told my mother she was surprised and a little upset and confused, but I think she's for the most part gotten over the shock of it all and has come to be quite happy with Kate and i's relationship. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Kate's parents. Both Mr. And Mrs. Kavanaugh seem to find Kate and I's engagement to be inconvenient for them. Yet they still sit at the table with us, planning the details for our wedding with Kate and actively ignoring me. Apparently they've both known Kate was Bisexual since high school but they both had thought of it to be just a phase until she told them about her proposing to me and they came to the realization that it was in fact not just a phase. I keep my eyes on the wedding planner Kate and her mother have laid out on the kitchen table as I pick at my dinner. Kate insisted we discuss it during dinner, not after, making it very clear we had plans after dinner and that we couldn't stay for long. I wonder if that was just an excuse to leave early or if she actually has plans for us, but I don't have time to ask right now.

Occasionally, Kate turns to me to ask my opinion on things throughout the process and I give my opinion, mostly just agreeing with her suggestions. There's no reason to argue on any of the details, she knows me so well it's like she's reading my mind every time she suggests something. "Hey, baby." Kate calls, attracting my attention. "Um...yes?" I mumble, blushing bright red when her parents both look at me. "You did want to take my last name right?" She asks, making me frown in confusion. I've already told her I did numerous times. I'm starting to think she just likes hearing me say it. "Yes." I say, as confidently as I can manage with her parents still staring at me and she grins. "Great! First I'll make you Mrs. Kavanaugh, then we can put a baby in you." Her smile gets bigger as her hand brushes over my arm affectionately, then she turns back to her work. Her parents both look at me with alarm at her baby comment, but I ignore them. If they don't bother Kate, they shouldn't bother me.

By the time we're finished with dinner we've managed to map out all the most important details of our upcoming wedding and I'm feeling more excited than ever. It's late in the evening and the sun is setting as we drive home. I watch out the window in amazement at the beautiful colors filling the sky. "Ready for our plans tonight?" Kate glances over at me. "What plans?" I ask. "Well, I thought that after that hell of a dinner with my parents we could go out clubbing and relieve some stress." She explains. "Because going out dancing in a loud ass club will totally ease my stress, geez Kate." I roll my eyes at her and she laughs. "No, but going out dancing with your hot soon to be wife will." I can't argue with that statement. I stare down at the engagement ring on my finger, memories of that night filling my mind.

All the lights in the apartment were off when I got home that night. Instead the entire place had been lit with candlelight. Candles were spread all around the main room as well as tons of flowers. All different kinds of them, in bundles and vases, rose petals lined the floor, and baskets of flowers hung from the ceiling. I couldn't believe the sheer amount of flowers all around me. It was like Kate had created a temporary meadow in our apartment. I had looked all around in amazement, my eyes reflecting the beauty around me, then I saw Kate. She was on one knee in the middle of the room, one hand extended with a ring on it. I couldn't have dreamed of a more special proposal. It was beautiful. All hearts and flowers and so much love.

Kate and I arrive at the club, both dressed in perfect club attire. Kate's rosy red dress looks perfect on her, hugging her body just right, and my silver dress glistens and gleams, just short enough to show off my delicate legs. It makes me nervous knowing it's my first time in a women's club, but I know I'll be fine with Kate at my side. She leads me inside and guides me to the bar. She buys us both a round of drinks and we down them, then we take off to the dance floor. She was right about coming here to relieve stress. It's so freeing to dance with her in the darkened club, knowing she's all mine, and I'm all her's. Last time we were dancing together I was so uncertain, but now everything is crystal clear. We take a break from dancing and Kate sends me to get more drinks while she makes a trip to the bathroom. I feel good, better than expected. As I make my way over to the bar a group of women approach me. "Damn, that's one shiny dress. I couldn't take my eyes off it since I saw it." One of the women says to me, looking me up and down. I smile and thank her, for once accepting a compliment without hesitation. "Here, let me buy you a drink. What were you getting?" One of the others asks, stepping past me to the bar. "Uh, just another round of shots please." She nods and goes to buy them while I stand awkwardly with the other women. They're all over me with compliments and questions, when Kate appears and puts her arm around my waist. "I see you've met my lovely fiancée Ana." She looks between the women and they all take a step back. "Thanks for the drinks." She thanks the one who purchased our shots then they all disappear. I look at Kate in amazement. I thought they'd never leave. "You sure are popular with the ladies. It's a good thing I put that ring on your finger when I did." Kate smiles at me, reaching down and squeezing my hand, before planting a kiss on my ring finger. I just giggle, uncomfortable with all the attention I'm getting tonight. Then we take our shots and make our way back out onto the dance floor and this time I lead. There's no one to judge us here. I'm free to do whatever I wish. Emboldened by the drinking and the compliments, I wrap Kate in my arms and as our hips sway with each other following the beat, I kiss her passionately under the bright flickering lights, for once not caring that everyone else can see.

Authors Note; I finally decided to start writing the sequel! I hope you guys like it so far it's basically going to be following the plot line of freed but with Kate and Ana.
