The faint glow of overhead lighting illuminates Kate's cheekbones as she tilts her head downward to skim over the menu. It's date night for us which this time, and most times, means the usual dinner and a movie. I already know what I want to order for my dinner. I've been thinking about it since the second I finished my salad for lunch. So, instead of looking over my own menu I just gaze at Kate as she struggles to make her decision. I sip on my non-alcoholic drink peacefully, watching over Kate. She looks up at me and I smile, pleasantly surprised to see her face again. It was buried in the menu for so long I thought I may never see it again. "Sorry. Was I taking too long?" She asks. "No, you're fine. I just already made my decision before we got here." I shrug, twirling the straw around in my glass. The ice cubes clink against the glass as I do, making an oddly satisfying sound. "Of course you did." Kate tosses her menu down and waves the waiter over. Our redheaded waitress appears at the side of our table, notebook in hand to take our orders. "Go ahead." Kate gestures for me to go first. "I'd like a steak, cooked well done, and fries with it." I tell her smoothly, having already rehearsed it in my head a million times since lunch. Now it's Kate's turn. "I'll have the same as her but with a side salad instead of fries, please." Of course she'd take all that time to think about it and then at the last minute go ahead with the same thing I picked. I shake my head at her with a small smile. "Thank you!" She calls after the waitress, as she's leaving to take our orders to the kitchen. "Very original of you to order the same as me." I say. "Well, great minds think alike, right?" Kate reaches for my hand over the table and I take it. "How was work?" She asks. "It was alright. I get the feeling that a lot of the staff thinks I'm suddenly made of glass now that they know I'm pregnant, but other than that it's going well." Kate laughs. "I'll kick all their asses if you want." She offers. "No, thanks. You'd lose your job then and how would we ever support our baby boy without his journalist mommies income?" Not to mention having my wife come into the office to kick ass for me would only increase the growing idea that I'm incapable of fighting my own battles in my current physical state. "I suppose you're right. The baby is going to have an endless amount of needs and wants that we'll need to be able to provide. We can't do that without a job or worse if I go to jail for assault." She squeezes my hand lovingly and I smile. She's so protective. It's one of her best qualities as a wife and as a mother.

When dinner is finished and we've decided to leave, Kate takes my hand and leads me out to the car. "We've still got about fifteen minutes before we need to leave for the movie." I inform Kate, checking the time on my phone. She stops and stands by the driver's side door of the car, still holding my hand. "Oh? How ever will we kill the extra time?" She smirks at me, her eyes glistening in the darkened parking lot. She unexpectedly kisses me, taking our clasped hands and wrapping an arm around my waist. Her free hand slips up the front of my dress and I gasp, breaking off the kiss. "We're in a parking lot!" I exclaim, looking from side to side to check if anyone is around us. There's no one else in sight right now. "It'll kill the extra time, right?" She whispers, her voice soft and seductive in my ear. "Hold on." Kate releases me and pops open the car door. She pulls a lever on the side of the drivers seat and pushes the seat as far back as it can go so there's more room between it and the steering wheel. Kate then sits down in the seat and holds a hand out to me. I take it and she pulls me down to sit on her lap. "Close the door and no one will see us. It's dark and the windows are tinted." I follow Kate's orders and close the door, checking once more if anyone else is within sight in the parking lot. We're all alone, at least for the time being. I bend and kiss Kate swiftly, allowing her to wrap her arms around me again. With one hand, she holds me in place as we make out, while the other hand moves up my front and into my panties. Ten minutes left. She slides two fingers in and out of me, working her thumb over my clit. Five minutes left. Her tongue swirls inside my mouth as she increases the pace of her fingers. "Fuck." I groan, leaning into her. I can't hold back any longer. I feel myself pulsate around her fingers, then explode. "Kate!" I pant her name, burying my face in the crook of her neck. Time's up. I barely have two seconds to recover before she's lifting me off of her to get me into the passengers seat.

The movie goes by quickly, keeping us entertained through every second. It was a good movie, better than the last film we saw. I prefer Rom-Coms to horror anyways. Maybe that's why I found it more entertaining than the movie we saw last time. Kate likes horror movies and it was her pick the previous weekend we went out. I tell her about my thoughts on the movie as we walk out of the viewing room and towards the main room of the cinema. Kate takes both of our drinks up to get refills before we go, and I watch her from where I'm standing. She refills hers first, then pauses as a man approaches her. He must've said something to her, because when she turns to look at him she's laughing. I feel jealously flare up in me, seeing her stop to talk to him. I should have gone with her so I could hear what they're saying. Then i'd know whether to be worried or not. She stops talking and turns to refill my drink. Then she walks back over to me and hands me the drink. "What was that about?" I ask, gesturing over to the guy who's still over there refilling his drink. "Oh, nothing. He was just trying not so subtly to flirt with me." Kate giggles and I purse my lips. Men are always flirting with Kate and it never ceases to irritate me. "What'd you say to him?" I ask, trying not to sound too interested. I can't blame her for someone finding her attractive. "I told him I was married and flashed the ring. He then asked where my husband was and I said I didn't have one, my wife's here with me." She smiles lovingly and wraps an arm around me as we walk out together and I know I have nothing to worry about.
