Talons POV
I drop my bag onto the floor of the living room. The smell of this place makes my nostrils burn. There are empty beer bottles and came everywhere. Jade is scrubbing at the kitchen conter. She works hard to keep the kitchen clean but struggles everywhere else. "Hey Jade" I say sitting at the peninsula.
She wiped the sweat off her forehead and turns to me. A fresh brusie circles around her eye. "Hi" she says her voice dry.
"What happened this time?" I say, I was done trying to convince her that her boyfriend wasn't supposed to do that and he didn't love her.
"It was my fault really... I spilled salt over everything." She chuckled lightly. My house wasn't like everyone at school thought, I never got punished, but Jade constantly found her head to someone's hand, whether it was her boyfriend's or our dads. It's kinda ironic that my dad is Sheriff, lead of a gang, and an abusive person all around.
My dad came out of his room, fixing his sleeve. "I'm going to make a business transaction, won't be back until ten, Jade would cover that up, it makes you look like your turning into an eggplant" Jade's hand instantly shot up to cover her face. She mumble an apolgie, and started to clean again.
"Jade I don't understand why you take shit like that?" I say grabing an apple.
"Let's just say that it's a habit and leave it at that" she said smacking my hand away from the fruit. I got up and kissed Jade on the cheek, and stole the Apple. She started shouting for me to put it back but I just ran out of the house.
I got in my car, and drove to the supermarket. I was thinking that maybe I could bring Brin on a picnic. I would bring Ocean but she is helping her brother move in.
I pick Brin up and we drive to the Park. Michael is sleeping in his carrier. "You and ocean are back together?" She takes a bite of a buttermilk roll.
"Yeah, I'm happy she forgave me, how's your mom?"
"Shes dead..."
"I'm sorry... I didn't know"
"When I told her I was pregnant... she went for a walk and didn't come back... they found her body in the South Park" Brin started sobbing uncontrollably. I pulled her close and comforted her. I looked into her soft eyes and she kissed me. I pushed away, I could see that she was hurt. "Why are we here?! Did you bring me here to flaunt about yourself, or how fucking wonderful you are huh? Talon I want to be with you, and I think I want to marry you?" She came closer and attached herself to my chest. "Ocean doesn't deserve you I do!" She kisses me again. I throw her off of me. I can tell in her eyes that she relized what she'd done, Brin grabbed Michael's Carrier and hopped the bus.
I didn't know what to do. Do I run after her or let her go? I kept running the scenario over in my head. Until my phone buzzed. My dad was calling I pick it up. "Yeah?"
"Get ready, we're about to invade The Jennings Estate." My dad informed
"What no, don't!" I protested
"Yes, those assholes stole everything!" My dad yelled into the phone.
"Don't kill Ocean" I begged
"Why should I do that?" I heard his tone, he was willing to take a deal. My father is like rumpelstiltskin, always making deals.
"I'll lead the gang when you retire. Tell Tony he no longer has the Job, I'll do it..." I was defeated ever since I meet Ocean, I decided that I wanted a normal life, not one where I'm running off with other women and shooting people mercilessly, but now he got what he wanted, and Ocean stays alive.
