Chapter Song: A Thousand Years. By Christina Perri
Third person POV
Noah buttons up his uniform, slowly. He knows a boat waits to take him to his base in Japan. His mind is swirling. Stepping back he knockes over his nightstand letting, an invitation fall to the floor. Ocean was getting married today. He couldn't take it anymore he needed to tell her how he felt. Rushing out of the house, he hopped in the taxi that was supposed to take him to the navel port. "To Saint Peters!" He tells the driver, "fast, im going to miss her!"
At the church (singing starts)
Ocean slips into the laces sleeves of her dress. Sun shine through the stain glass window of the attic. She hears someone call the time five minutes, five minutes until the rest of her life begins, and her family is finally safe from Scorching Fire. She zips up the gown and turns to see Noah breathless at the door.
"Ocean of I could have a minute of your time... Ocean ever since you moved here I can't stop thinking about you, wanting you, loving you. My life has been so much better with you around, and when I first kissed you at that Christmas party I knew that I loved you, and I couldn't help but feel guilty... because this beautiful girl is dating someone else. Ocean" Noah came closer to her. "I love you, and I can't say it enough to where it will erase all the stupid things I have done to make you think otherwise, I'm about to ship out and I'll stay if you say you won't get married to him, but you'll stay with me get married to me, love me." Noah begs, all that runs through Oceans head is... My Family. With sudden grief she drops his hands and stands by the window. Noah walks out slowly and Ocean exits the Church to the garden below.
Noah sulks down the stairs, never before had his gut let him down. He thought Ocean loved him like he loved her. Talon was the best for her, he had been there when Noah wasn't. She only saw him as a friend, not a lover.
Ocean stepped out into the spring wind. The weather was supposed to hold up dry, but she hadn't gotton her hopes up. The gravel cracked under her heels, as she gripped her flowers tighter, and grabbed her dad's arm.
(Second Verse)
Her Dad lead her down the aisle. Talon looked back on Ocean, beautiful as always. Her blonde hair falls back into a bun. He can't stop smiling, this girl he has been with for 2 years is the one he wants to marry. Talon looks over at Brin, she is holding Michaels hand, and looks back to Ocean who is now holding his hand. He thinks that he will always love her. "Talon Frey do you take Ocean Jennings as you lawful wedded wife, in sickness or health until death do you part?"
He takes a deep breath, "I do" he looks into Oceans eyes, she is nervous.
"Ocean Jennings do you take Talon Frey as your lawful wedded husband in sickness and health until death do you part?"
I look around at the crowd their proud faces, look up at her and the altar, something changes in her. "I - I can't" she breaks away from Talons arms, and run out of the garden. Ocean runs around the large brick church to the front where she hopes Noah is waiting. She keeps running, and she sees a taxi. Noahs Sandy blonde hair ducking inside. Thunder rolls. Half way down, she feels her shoe slip from her feet. She turns to see Talon. He gently puts her shoe back on. Ocean lays one lasting kiss on his cheek, and runs to catch the taxi.
She runs and soon the taxi tail lights blink and it comes to an urgent stop. Oceans heart races, her chest rises and falls with every intent of saying how much she loves him. Her long dress makes it almost impossible to stand up right. Her hair has fallen loose, and her shoes were now killing her.
The thunder roared again, and rain started. In every drop was like an ounce of her love. She remembered the first time she meet him. It was fate turning his wheels, the goddess Venus, making plans, and they were acting out those plans. She loved him, and although are had said it, so many times in her head, she couldn't wait to say it out loud. Ocean had pushed the emotion that she had felt for Noah to the back of her mind. Burying it with feelings for Talon. The truth is she didn't love Talon, she loved Noah. Juliet couldn't find a better love. He was better than Romeo, better than Jack, better than anything and everything. Noah was her everything. At this very moment she thought about them.
"Hi I'm Noah Jasons" he nodded
"Ocean Jennings," he blushed, he had sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. "What are we doing?"
"Noah!" She calls as he gets out. "I do love you, with everything in my body. When you get near me my heart drums. When I think of that night, Christmas I wish I had a time machine, because I would go back and tell you that I do love you. More than anything in the world." Ocean pulls her hands to her chest and out again, as if she were giving her heart to Noah. "My veins pump blood to my heart but my heart only beats for you. So ask me again" Ocean shouts over the rain, "Ask me again!" She shouts again. She stands there waiting.
A smile stretches across Noahs face "Do you love me?" He shouts, but he already knows the answer.
"Yes a thousand times yes!" Ocean screamed, her eyes began to water, and drip tears, tears of joy. They both were soaked from the down pour. They ran at each other meeting in the middle. Noah picked Ocean up to his lips. "I love you Ocean Marie" he curls his lips into his beautiful smile again. Ocean runs her hands through his hair, and he twirls her around and around, kicking puddles of fallen rain.
"I love you too" she whispers. They bring their lips together, in one long lasting true loves first kiss.
