"There'', I said, as I put the last book on the shelf. It just had been a couple hours since I had learnt that Earth was a island, and that I was to forever live in a other island: Mystic. Because of these sudden changes, I had to move to a new house. It was enormous. I had a whole floor to myself. My new guardian was a nice lady names Andromeda. She is a intelligent old woman with salt and pepper hair. Some people thought she was eccentric from the way she dressed but I disagreed. She is also one of the few people to have traveled to another Island. In her case: Earth. My name is Cassandra Darksmoke I am a lover of music and books. I have galaxy eyes and depression. A lot of people that I've encountered don't believe me, because they think short people are happy little witches. It's dumb. Just a few hours ago I was living with my mom and 5 cats. It was nice.
I walked out of my room to get some fresh air. I heard someone yelling. I turned around to see a immaculately dressed man yelling at his son. If they weren't next to each other they would not look anything like each other. The dad had green eyes and was wearing a spotless white lab coat along with a few vials around his neck. The kid was tall and had green eyes, his knees were all scraped up, but he looked almost happy about it.
I decided that I had gotten enough fresh air and walked back to my house. When I got back, Andromeda told me that my school schedule was on my bed. I walked toward my room and looked at it. There were a ton of subjects I've never had on Earth, but I could still guess them. First I had Dragonology, which was the study of dragons. I've always loved dragons, so that was easy to decipher. Next I had Chemistry, not necessarily my favorite subject but I had always been able to excel at it. After that I had Lunch, and after that I had Defenses. I guessed that Defenses were like jousting and ninja training combined into one. Later I had Healing which was probably like learning how to heal people. Lastly I had Trivium and Quadrivium which I know is In the medieval university, the trivium was the lower division of the seven liberal arts, and comprised grammar, logic, and rhetoric (input, process and output). I also knew that that was really hard.
There was also a list of school subjects. As I glanced at it I noticed It was not free.
"Andromeda", I called,"how am I going to pay for my school supplies?"
"Don't worry", she replied "I'll buy everything, I am a lot richer than I look Cassandra".
I looked at it again. It was a fairly long list. It included the following.
• One ''Dragonology at its Finest'' book by Mack L. Keimlosh
• One "Trivium and Quadrivium" book by R.K. Ermest
• One ''Chemistry at its Finest'' book by Mack L. Keimlosh
• One set of vials
• Chemistry goggles
• Mack L. Keimlosh certified dragon gloves
• Five Fireproof notebooks in different colors
• One fireproof cloak preferably Mack L. Keimlosh certified
• Family Crest
•Multiple fireproof waterproof magic-proof and cheat proof pens in blue, black, and green
It seemed like a lot of stuff for only one trimester. There was only one thing I didn't understand. I walked down the stairs to find Andromeda. I found her in the kitchen making dinner.
"What's for dinner?", I asked.
"Boiled ecobob", she answered.
''What's that?", I asked.
"It's basically a type of vegetable that tastes like roasted carrots and violet flowers. It is very wholesome and delicious."
"Andromeda", I asked, " what's a family crest" . After she sighed she answered me.
" It's a form of identification. You clip it on a cloak or jacket. When I went to you're school, Odin Institute, when I was a girl we put it around our fireproof cloaks which we had to wear all the time. And by the way, your school starts the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow we will buy your schooling necessities".
After she served our dinner, which was way beyond delicious, I went to bed. And for once in my life I felt not only safe but sure that I would have the best day ever to have existed tomorrow.
