Chapter 5

 I walked toward Laurence.

'' Do I have a dragon?,'' I asked.

" Of course. She is right over here," he guided us to a cold room.

"Here it is," he said pointing to the corner.

There was a lump in the chair covered with blankets. Laurence threw back the blankets dramatically. I looked at the chair to see the color changing round thing sitting in the middle.

"HOW long?" I asked.

"About 4 more days," he said.

"Why did you not tell me that earlier?" I asked.

"It is your gift. And by the way how much earlier exactly?" he complained.

"Maybe when you found it. Judging from the size of the egg, It is a unidentified species meaning only one thing, it is a Incognito,"I replied.

"There you go off on your smart talk," He sighed dramatically.

I looked at the lump in the blankets. I noticed that I was exactly like this incognito dragon. I was left behind, no one knew what happened, no one knew what was going to happen. Neither did I not know what happened.

I walked toward the window, so I could watch the Monarchy stride through the frosty window. Something seemed wrong. I ran out the door to find a Monarchy member playing with a piece of burnt paper. When they passed by every morning everyone was supposed to clap respectfully. Today no one clapped at all. The Monarchy member strode toward me.

"My name is Lamont and I am here to deliver this to you. That is if you are Miss Cassandra Darksmoke" Lamont said.

I nodded slowly. He passed the burnt piece of paper to me and whispered something about Dragonlic, the 10th century, and something about keeping the piece of paper safe. He also said that My Chemistry Teacher(isn't that that band?), Master L.K. Walters could tell me more about the cave, do not give the sliver of burnt paper to anyone, and to not trust anyone except Sonia, Andromeda, and Laurence.

I glanced past my shoulder to see Sonia and Laurence exchange worried glances.
