Chapter 11: The Men With Pumped Up Kicks

Odin's Pov

We had nothing planned today. Out of sheer boredom, I sarcastically said  "We should infiltrate a Dahl Lost Legion base on Pandora to find information on the vaults.". Lilith looks at me with a smile. "You're actually considering it? G-guys I was joking..." I stutter. She looks at me "Oh we are. I think there is a base at Sawtooth Cauldron." She says. I sigh and I head to my house to get ready. At this point, I got a shotgun and a sub machine gun. They were good ones too. They were Hyperion made, thanks dad! Anyway, we look at a map. We found where the base is on Sawtooth. We take a bandit truck and Lilith drives. After hours of driving, we arrive at the Dahl base. The others get out and I stand there staring at it. "Good luck." I could hear Angel's voice behind me. I quickly turn around. There was nothing. We go to the entrance of the base and there were some staff. I held my hand signaling for them to stop. I close my eyes and I could faintly hear something. It was the people talking. They were talking about a vault that was opened a while ago. They called it the Vault of the Traveler. They said they were going to steal a key, but it was already taken. It was the key I took from Hyperion. I had enough of and I just barged in with my shotgun. "Give me all your documents or I'll BLOW YOUR F**KING HEADS OFF!" I yelled aggressively. They all put their hands up and some were crying. I shot my gun that almost hit one of the men. I guess I over did it. Two scientists gave me some documents. I left and the others stood there with their mouths hanging open. "Hey!" A man yelled. Two men with suites and pistols aimed them at me. I give the documents to Maya and I ordered them "Go, I'll catch up.". She didn't argue with me and they drove away. I look back at the men in suites. "Now, we can be civil and discuss this, or you two can shoot me where I stand. What will it be boys?" I ask with a smirk. They look at each other and lower their guns. I put my hands down and they hold my arms behind my back. They lead me inside. The other workers were looking at me and I growl at them. They put me in this room and ordered this lady to watch me. The men left and it was just me and her. "Hey lady, you're a smart girl, so why don't you let me go?" I start to say. Her head looks up and her eyes lock on to me. I give her a smirk and she just glares back at me. I stand up and she does too. I walk to the window and she speaks. "Hey kid, what you did was not smart. What were you thinking?". I sigh. I look at her reflection in the mirror. "I'm smarter than you think." I said. I notice a pistol on the table in the room and I hear the footsteps of the two men. I quickly take the pistol, aim it at my torso, fired, then quickly give it to the lady. "Gah, what the hell was that for?" I scream.  The two men see me holding my torso in pain and the lady holding the pistol. There were no cameras in this room, so they had no proof I shot myself. They argue with the lady and I fall to the floor. There were medics helping me up. "That lady is mental!" I accused. She couldn't say anything in defense. They take me to the medical wing. The two men follow. I sit on the examination bed and they put pressure on the wound. They put bandages around my torso and I was fine. There was an open window. When the men, doctor, and lady were out of my view, I took this chance to escape. I got up and climbed out the window. I sprinted away from the Dahl Lost Legion base. I go towards the direction of Three Horns Divide. I had to travel through the Dust, and Three Horns Valley. It took me forever to get back to Sanctuary. I go to the HQ to see them looking at the documents. Tiny Tina was there playing with Brick. She notices me and yells "My dood's back!" as she runs to me and bear hugged me. I grunted in pain a little. I know I shot my torso, but it still hurt when I did. I guess I'm now wanted by the Dahl cooperation now. I was given a Health Now and I was good to go. I head back home and see something on my desk in my room. It were a pair of wireless headphones. There was the volume buttons, power, pause/play, and a USB that folded into the headphones. It was basically  MP3 Headphones. I see a note. "To remind yourself of Earth. Love Daddy" It read. I hear my toilet flush and Jack walk out. I see him and I give him a hug. I thanked him and I told him about the robbery thing. "Hey, I found a way that you might send a message to your family on Earth. Your mother passed her ability to you, so if you focus hard enough, you might be able to do it." He says. I agreed and gave it a shot. I recorded the message on an Echo Device, taped a note saying how to use it, and focused. After a minuet, there was a flash and the Echo Device was gone. "Did I do it?" I ask. Dad shrugs. I sigh, and he leaves. I take my new Headphones and I go to the computer. Lucky for me, the songs I enjoyed are also in this universe. I download them into my headphones and I was good to go. I lay on my bed thinking if my family on Earth got the Echo Device.
