Chapter 16: Little Man Behind The Wheel

Odin's POV

I hack into the Dahl network to see if I could see anything else I missed from that guy we took. I'm now considered dead in their eyes. Thank god... or whoever runs Pandora. As I work on a side project, I work with the other team to get me back to earth. The first step was already done, the echo recorded was hopefully sent to earth. Now we need to do that on a bigger level. 

I sit on the side of my bed trying to think of something. I hear my door open. Gaige comes up the stairs and looks at me. 

"What is it? Did something happen?" I ask her. She nods and takes my hand.

"Jack thinks he knows how to get you back," she says as she drags me to Tanis's lab. Jack is there arguing with her. I sigh. 

"Oh, hey. We figure that if we can somehow amplify your powers, we can transport bigger things and maybe yourself." Tanis says. Jack crosses his arms. He starts to explain that his scientists are working on schematics for a gauntlet.

"It's still in its prototype phase. It might take a while to finish."  Jack adds.  I nod. I was told that was all they had to report and I head out. Gaige stops me as I head to my house. She hands me a gun and says to meet her at The Dust. She says that it's important for some reason. I nod and follow her to the fast travel station. We appear in this mechanic shop and this huge woman walks out. 

"Howdy Vault Hunter, who's this?" she asks Gaige. The lady had a southern accent. It took a hot minute before Gaige nudged me. 

"Odin, my name's Odin maam." I introduce myself. I feel like if I don't respect this lady she'll actually kill me even though I'd be revived through the New-U though I'd rather not die period. 

"Well howdy to you Odin." she laughs as she puts a wrench off to the side. She asks us what she could do us for. 

"We're looking to have this one drive Ell." Gaige pats my back with some force. And with her robotic hand so it hurt more than it should have. Ell goes over to a terminal. It wasn't just any terminal, Scooters catch-a-ride. I was excited when Gaiges words registered in my brain, I'm getting to drive a car from THE Scooters Catch-a-Ride. Back on earth, Scooter has been my favorite character when playing the game along with T.K Baha...  r.i.p man, you deserved so much more.

"Well shoot, the bandits must've done something to my satellite dish. I'm not gettin' anythin'." Ell sighs. That was our cue to start a mission for her. Gaige and I started walking around trying to find the dish. We head around to the back of the shop and notice a part of the fencing was cut. 

"Bandits." she says to herself. We crouch and go through the hole and not far from it there was the group of bandits that vandalised Ells satellite dish. After a not so hard gun fight we head back to the shop and repair the dish with duct tape. Anything can be fixed with a roll of duct tape and effort. 

Once that was done, the Catch-a-Ride was back online in Ells shop. A Bandit Technical materializes and Gaige gets in the passenger side. I hesitantly get in the drivers side, I never drove on earth nor did I have confidence I wouldn't blow up the technical. Gaige gives me a reassuring smile before directing me on how to start, drive, all that sorts of stuff. Once she was done she had me drive around the dust. Luckily it was more of an open area so I had less of a chance to crash. As I drive we pass a caravan with a red chest on top. 

"Turn around and get the loot." she orders. 

"But-"

"No buts, turn around." she orders again so I do just that. She moves into the turret and starts firing at the escort vehicles that were at the sides of the caravan. When both were exploded the caravan stopped and we got out to claim our newly found loot. Some class mods that were useless to us and a shield. Not the best but we could sell them for money. We get back in the technical and drive back to Ell. When that was done we fast traveled back to Sanctuary to celebrate my successful driving and called it a night.
