Midoriya had sat in front of the televison, bundled up on the couch. He wasn't really watching the TV, more like regretting every ugly word he made his Todoroki listen to.
No amount of apologizing or regretting could ever bring back the Todoroki he loved; wanted; needed.
Midoriya lurched up from his spot on the couch.
Maybe that was for the better.
No. Midoriya dismissed the sudden positive thought. Todoroki would never forgive him. Why? The answer was simple. He was destined to be with Uraraka and Todoroki was the "lone wolf." That was how it always was, even if Midoriya hadn't realized it until now.
The stupid drama that Midoriya had been "watching" suddenly switched to an emergency broadcast.
Midoriya could only stare in disbelief. It took him several moments to comprehend what he was being told, as well as figure out what to do.
With his mind racing, he ran into his room to grab a coat and his phone. A hasty "Bye Mom!" was yelled towards the kitchen. As soon as the door was locked, Midoriya ran as fast as he could. But still his mind went even faster.
Why would Bakugou be attacking the city?
Was Todoroki there?
Was Bakugou with the League of Villains?
No, that was absurd.
Was Todoroki okay?
No matter how hard Midoriya tried, he still cared deeply about Todoroki.
And he hated it.

Ten minutes later, Midoriya reached the scene. Even from behind the large crowd, he could hear Bakugou yelling. What he was yelling, however, was probably not important.
He shouldered his way to the front of the crowd although once most recognized who he was, they parted for him. He reached the front of the storm of people. Once he saw the situation, his curiosity and worry dissapesred, replaced by a new emotion; anger.
The infamous Bakugou Katsuki stood over a pile of rubble. Ingenium stood a few feet away, hesitant to attack. Midoriya knew Ingenium would be defeated by Bakugou, especially when he was angry enough to destroy a building to the point where it was charred bricks and ash at his feet.
He was ready to run under the police tape when a few people shouted and pointed at the roof of a building.
Midoriya looked and immediately wished he hadn't.
He let himself be sucked back into the crowd, hoping Todoroki didn't see him. Now that he was here, Midoriya couldn't help Ingenium.
Midoriya's heart felt broken in a million pieces. If he went out there now, both of them would be distracted by each other and be unable to fight properly. But if Todoroki was out there alone, that meant he had a higher risk of getting even more hurt than he already was. Not to mention the fact that Bakugo would focus more on Todoroki than Ingenium. It's like Todoroki had a death wish.
If he did, it would be because of me.
Todoroki brought back too many emotions for Deku to handle at once. His vision became blurry, and he shut them tight. Even from the center of the crowd, he could feel every step Todoroki made on the battlefield. Everything he did seemed hesitant, like he knew he was out of place.
