Nothing could've prepared Todoroki for what Deku's mother had told him. Part of him was disgusted that she would ever think that he would turn out that way, but the other part of him wanted to constantly look at himself and try to make himself look as little as his father as possible. He didn't tell Midoriya about his inner conflict; the boy had already been through enough over the weekend. So instead, he put a smile on his face and a cheerful pep in his step, if it meant that Deku would be happy.

"Todoroki, now that you're here with... with me, I think it's only fair that you get to choose what we do for the rest of the day." Deku proposed with a blush.

He smiled. It came easier than previous attempts, but still was somewhat forced.

"I don't feel like going anywhere, do you?"

   "Not really. Why?"

"Well... you do have those old hero movies, right?"

Midoriya beamed with pride. "All 17 of them!"

He rushed to the other side of the room to get the movies, and for once, Todoroki had nothing to worry about. He let himself forget about his troubles for once in his life. He didn't have to fear his father or what would happen to him if the bus home was a minute late. He, for once, was allowing himself to relax and enjoy the moment.

It wasn't just any carefree Sunday. It was a Sunday with Deku. The fact that Todoroki was spending his day with him made his heart skip a beat. He loved Deku from every angle, down to each nerve that ran beneath his skin. He wanted to pull his Deku close and watch cheesy movies on the couch with the blanket pulled around the both of them even though they didn't really need it because they were already so closely huddled that they could feel the other person's warm breaths. He wanted to keep Deku in his lap and hug him and tell him that nothing bad was ever going to happen again.

Finally, he got what he wanted.

*:..<—>..:*

Popcorn was littered about the couch, being stuffed into the many cracks and crevices. Todoroki lost count of what movie they were on. They all had the same pointless plot, but Todoroki didn't mind. It was early evening now, and Deku had lightly fallen asleep on Todoroki's side. He propped his head up with his hand, his elbow resting on the arm of the couch. He pulled the soft blanket over Deku and rested his other hand on his head. God, he was so pretty.

Ignoring the movie, he let his thumb move over Deku's features. He traced his freckles and his petite features. Deku adjusted himself in his sleep so that he could feel more of Todoroki's warmth. Todoroki smiled faintly, thinking of how this was the one and only person he was ever going to feel this way for.

Todoroki wondered what was going on in that head of Midoriya's, as well as his heart. Was he dreaming of a passionate, somewhat lustful kiss during a sunset on the beach? Or was he dreaming of something...more?

Todoroki's eyelids felt heavier with each passing second. He wondered what Midoriya was truly feeling in his heart. But alas, one's heart was the most difficult to understand. Todoroki, sadly, spoke from experience.

He awakened with a start. It was dark outside, and Todoroki didn't need to look at the clock to know that it was well past midnight. The TV was the only source of light in Deku's living room, the forgotten movie's selection screen replaying over and over.

Something felt missing. Todoroki looked down and realized that the blanket that had been cast over Deku was draped over him instead. A sudden twinge of panic in Todoroki's chest made him jump up from the couch. He didn't shout, because he didn't want to cause suspicion.

Todoroki glanced around the room and saw that a faint source of light was coming from the kitchen.

A dull "thunk" resounded from the room, followed by a soft "Gah!"

Todoroki, still sleepy, rubbed his eyes as he tried to adjust his eyes with as minimal pain as possible. The open fridge cast against Deku's small frame, surrounding him in a gentle halo. Todoroki smiled gently. Even the fridge knew Deku was an angel.

"Deku?" Todoroki called softly. It startled the smaller boy nonetheless. He drew back from the dimly lit counter, clutching his hand. Todoroki saw a box of ramen for two sitting on the counter and a small knife laying next to it.

"T—Todoroki-kun?" Deku stuttered. He looked down at his fingers, wiping away what Todoroki thought was blood. Deku stuck his finger in his mouth, trying to get it to stop.

Todoroki would have nothing of it. In one long stride, he was in front of Deku and gently pulled his hand away from his face.

"Was this for me?" Todoroki asked, gesturing to the forgotten instant ramen container. While he kept Deku preoccupied with the ramen, he focused his right hand's power into the wound, trying to easing the pain.

Deku's face turned bright red. It was very noticeable, even in the dark. Todoroki smiled, using his left hand to cup his face and look into his beautiful green eyes. He felt suspended in time, as if he could just stay here forever. Forever with his Deku, his one and only supernova in his galaxy of dull stars.

Todoroki was jerked out of his fantasy as Deku cringed in pain. Immediately, Todoroki pulled back, only now realizing that he had given Deku's finger frostbite.

"Deku, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Todoroki asked with genuine concern. The smaller boy only nodded weakly, pretending to be both emotionally and physically okay. Todoroki knew him better. He gently took the other boy's good hand in his.

"Let's get you patched up, okay?" Todoroki suggested, gesturing towards the bathroom.

Deku smiled faintly and didn't protest as Todoroki began to guide him to the small room. He turned on the faucet to its lowest setting so it wouldn't wake up Deku's mother upstairs. As Deku rested his finger in the cold water, Todoroki grabbed a bandage and a hand towel.

"Look at me— is it still bleeding?" Todoroki asked, taking his hand out from under the water to inspect the small wound.

Deku still said nothing and let Todoroki handle the situation. The taller boy frowned in response. Usually Deku wasn't this quiet.

He sighed. He would have to ask what was wrong after he patched up Deku's finger.

Todoroki carefully wrapped the bandage around Deku's finger before yawning. He wanted to go back to bed, but he was fine with eating a bowl of ramen for the two of them if that was what Deku felt like.

He looked down to ask Deku what he wanted to do next, but the response he received was instead a heavenly kiss.
