Midoriya couldn't care less about the competition tomorrow morning. Over the course of the rest of the school day, he had hardly gotten anything done. He was preoccupied with Urakaka. He felt terribly guilty, but he was sure Uraraka understood. Or so he hoped.
When the school day ended, Uraraka hadn't even looked at Midoriya, which only made his heart shrivel up even more. Although he had basically friendzoned her, he still cared about her deeply. He hoped she still had similar feelings.
What Midoriya didn't expect was the eyes that followed him as he walked away from the school, hand in hand with Todoroki. Even in the brisk weather that made even Todoroki wear a borrowed hoodie, Midoriya felt sweat run down the back of his neck from the silent peer pressure.
Midoriya almost karate chopped Kirishima in the face when he ran up behind him and planted a meaty hand on his shoulder. Midoriya noticed Todoroki tense, as if he wanted to push the boy away and tell him to leave Midoriya to himself. The thought of having such a protective boyfriend made Midoriya smile.
Kirishima, ignoring Todoroki, started to pester Midoriya with questions.
"Hey, you two are gay now, right? That's pretty cool. What's having a boyfriend like? Everyone's always asking me if I'm gay. It's not obvious enough, is it?" He hung his head in shame for a split second. He looked back at Midoriya, his eyes lit with a playful spark.
"Have you two had se—"
If not for Todoroki freezing the red haired boy's mouth shut, Midoriya would've screamed. Instead, he shakily grasped Todoroki's arm and plastered an embarrassed smile on his face. Slowly, he turned on his heel and set a fast pace towards home. He could tell Todoroki was trying not to laugh.
Of course I've thought about having sex with Todoroki... well, who wouldn't? I mean— we are boyfriends now, but if we haven't done it, whose to say we really care for each other? No, that's stupid. Todoroki loves me, and I love him. He is the only star in my word of bleak reality; I need him. But does he feel the same way about me? Does he imagine sex with me? Does he even want to have sex with me?
Todoroki finally stopped Midoriya after they had walked a few blocks down from the school. More specifically, he sprouted rock-hard ice around his feet to stop the younger boy from practically dragging him down the sidewalk any further. Midoriya was shaken out of his thoughts, realizing that he hadn't let go of Todoroki's warm and reassuring presence.
Midoriya felt an extremely noticeable blush heat up his cheeks. He turned his head to give an apologetic smile to the older boy, but instead, he found himself being swept off his feet.
Laughter soon followed. Midoriya blinked rapidly, confused. He found that Todoroki was carrying him bridal style as he walked down the sidewalk. He gasped in surprise, squirming in Todoroki's firm grasp.
Todoroki's smile only grew. He looked at Midoriya with a sense of pride.
"You're so cute when you're embarrassed." Todoroki said, his tone suddenly going quieter. Midoriya, flustered, decided to enjoy the moment. He wrapped his arms around Todoroki's neck. With his head to his chest, Midoriya could hear the other boy's heartbeat.
"I know you've thought about doing it," Todoroki said with a lopsided grin. Midoriya stuck out his tongue at him in response, earning only a wholesome laugh.
The warmth emitting from Todoroki made Midoriya want to fall asleep right there in his arms. His eyelids grew heavy, and with each step closer to his house, he wished he was miles away. He wanted this warm, loving embrace to last forever. Just him and Todoroki, and no other worries to think about. Just a safe sanctuary where nothing could poison his thoughts...
