"y-you have what" Nick said tears leaving his eyes. Finn was too hurt to speak. tears leaving the boys eyes the more it sinks into him.

"i have lung cancer" his dad spoke clearly. "ive had it for three months now and it's getting worse. thats why i have been preparing Finn for my job"

"b-but why didn't you tell us sooner?" Nick said hurt at the fact his dad kept it in. "how much do you have left?"

"lets not talk about that.." their mom says sighing.

"how long?" Finn spoke up looking at his dad. his dad looked down then back up at his two children.

"by the end of this year if i am lucky" he said and Finn broke down even more. he didn't want to lose his dad too.  "if chemo therapy works then everything will be fine"

"everything will be fine" their mom said placing a fake smile on her face.

"thats what you said about Roses death but everything wasn't. all we got was a depressing family" Nick said and walked off. Finn looked up at his parents with tear stained cheeks and got up leaving to his room.

*flash back*

"Finny.. you know i love you right?" Rose asked. she had entered his room after coming home from a date night with her boyfriend.

"of course why?" Finn asked his twin.

"just wanted you to know since people can be rude and say that nobody wants you. just know that no matter what i am by your side. that you are wanted and love in this world! you have a place in this world. dont let anyone control your own life... you take charge and be who you are. take care of our family" she said and Finn smiled.

"thank you Rose i love you too!" he said hugging her. she hugged back tighter not letting go even after Finn did.

"here i want you to have this" she took off the rose gold necklace that had a charm shaped rose on it. their parents have gave that to her on her fourth birthday. "i want you to have it.. to know that im always here"

with that she kissed his forehead and left the room. Finn didn't think anything of it just thought she was being the nice girl she has always been.

dinner came around and Finn went to go call Rose to come and eat dinner. he walked to her room knocking first but when he didn't get an answer he opened it. his eyes widen streaming at what he saw in front of him. Nick came rushing and covered his little brothers eyes screaming for his parents to call 911.

when thirty minutes passed the ambulance came rushing Rose out of the house trying to keep her alive. Finn mind wouldn't erase the image in his brain. he saw his twin sister in her own pool of blood. he knew she didn't have a chance cause how pale she looked. 

thats when he met Jaeden, the boy from across the street that had lost his brother. he came rushing at Finn telling him he is sorry and that everything happens for a reason. he also told him that no matter the outcome that Finn is still strong in the end. Finn smiled at the shorter boy hugging him.

at the doctor office they told them about their lose. their parents broke out crying as Finn and Nick stood their shocked. they lost a sibling without a warning. Their parents looked at them trying to smile but hardly can.

"everything will be fine" their mom spoke in a soft voice. the boys believed her aster all she is their mother.

everything wasn't fine though it was complete hell after that. sure Finn gained a new friend but he lost his best friend. the family was just not how it use to be.

*flash back over*

Finn laid on his bed completely broken. he knew he had to act strong because he is gonna be carrying his family on his back if his dad leaves too soon.

so Finn made a promise. he got up closed his window that was usually only closed if it rained. he covered his window with the blinds sighing at his actions. he then got his phone going on the groupchat with all his friends were in and left.

he closed his phone and left his room going to his parents. he knocked and heard a come in which he did.

"i wanna start taking over the company.. little by little" Finn said and his dad smiled. "i want to go to work with you tomorrow"

"of course we have to be out of the house by nine" his dad said and Finn nodded and left the room.

he is gonna put what's important to him first, which is family. he went to his closet pulling out his suit hanging it on the rack for he can be prepared tomorrow. he went into a black box pulling out the rose gold rose shaped necklace placing it around the hanger that held his suit.

"this is for you.." he spoke softly. "im gonna finally control my life just like you told me to."
